alpha lipoic acid. its more bioavailable in the form r-ala or k-r-ala. it is an antioxidant that mimicks insulin. its great to take with meals containing a lot of carbs and/or high glycemic carbs as this supplement will aid these carbs to be stored as glycogen. ala isnt necessary by any means. i use it when i carb load for competitions. its a good supp, and if you have the cash to spare, then go for it.
