This is both a question about the different types of wheat bread in general, as well as a specific question for me personally.
The basic question - what is the difference really between whole wheat, 7 grain, 9 grain, etc and all the different wheat/grain breads? What makes one better than the other, etc.
Now my question: At school I have the option of buying whole wheat bread (small pieces, 70 calories each), or 7 grain light-style (45 calories a piece). The other types are all white bread, cinnamon raisin and some others.
Which should I choose? I'm starting to eat the whole wheat because with 2 Pb and honey sandwhichs that is an easy extra 100 calorie a day. But are there downsides to whole wheat vs 7 grain?

Yes, I do... here:
7 grain (light-style)- 1 slice:
45 calories, 0g fat, 85mg sodium, 9g carbs (1g dietary fibers), 2g protein
Whole Wheat- 1 slice:
70 calories, 1g fat (.5 polyunsaturated) 90mg sodium, 12g carbs (2g dietary fibers, 1g sugar), 2g protein
I have the vitamin info as well, but dunno if anyone wants that.

whole wheat says: contains 2 percent or less high fructose corn syrup, the other just says high fructose corn syrup. A few ingredients later it lists what it has 2% of less of.
The 7 grain also has a lot more ingredients, the whole wheat (which has i guess less HFCS) has about 2/3 the amount of ingredients.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the whole wheat is better. Plus it's more calories which is the other plus (bulking right now).
