My roommate's snoring is driving me insane...
I'm about 10 minutes away from holding a pillow over his face and hoping he wakes up and does something about it. It is loud and nasaly as **** and is starting to annoy me.
Should I make him buy nasal strips?
In before the "He can't snore if he's dead, jus' sayin." routine.

When people snore... make a loud noise to somewhat wake them up from their deep sleep. Bang on the wall until he wakes up. He'll wake up without realizing it and go right back to sleep. He won't be snoring for another 20-30 minutes. *repeat as necessasy*

I don't want to take 20 minute naps for the rest of my nights at school lol.
And it is so weird that I've been living with him 3 years and this is the first time he started this crap. Stress related?

Throw a bundle of sock right at his face and hard, and then quickly dive into bed before he realizes what has happened. He will be awake for awhile then giving you some peace time.

is he putting on weight? often this is a common cause-->snoring---> sleep apnoea.
try earplugs for urself,
nasal strips might not work if noise is coming from tongue falling back on soft palate in back of throat. (mandibular repos sleep appliance-$$$). tell him to lie on side may help. suppose nasal strips wouldn't hurt to try

I had the same problem with my old roommate. I got back at him though.....I would take my extra pillow, ball it up on one end, grab it by the other, and roundhouse his face w/ it (serious). It would tire me out and make me feel better, so I was able to finally fall asleep. Try that.

AHHAHAHA.
One time in the summer a bunch of us got a cottage and each room had bunk beds. My buddy on the top bunk wouldn't stop snoring so I put a frozen steak on his head and lit his foot on fire with a lighter.
Do WORK!

If it's just temporary then make a noise to wake him up
Let him know in a nice way that he's been snoring lately and ask him if he has anything going on like a cold or sinus problems.
If he's never had this problem before he might have allergies or something or a cold, etc.
You can also buy some earplugs
And remember, you might be snoring too, you're just never awake to hear it

x2 on weight gain? Make him use another pillow, maybe being elevated will help.

Has he gained any significant weight?
You should tape record him and let him hear what you have to go through. Get a CD with someone snoring and put it in his room and let him hear for himself of what you have to go through every night. Tell him to go see his physician and have him go through a thorough checkup. I'm willing to bet it is weight related. Snoring is very common among people who all of sudden gain weight. He will be tested for Sleep Apnea and if that is the case, he will get either surgery or use a C-PAP machine. A C-Pap machine is a device that helps air push through a breathing apparatus through your nose and it will keep open the muscle tissue that is in your throat. It will certainly cure his snoring. In fact he will be quiet as a church mouse. Tell him to get test for that and in can be a life or death issue. Put a sense of danger and maybe he'll get the checkup.
