free day
What has seemed to work the best for me is a BFL style eating plan with one free day a week. For me it is the mental battle and since I've been doing BFL I've noticed I no longer "have" to absolutely have something and I can turn things down much easier than before. I haven't gone through a holiday season yet with BFl so we'll see how it plays out, but I'm much more confident than I have been in years past.

Simply eat just like it was any other time of the year. If you give in to the temptation to fall for that tired old "but it's the holidays..." excuse, then that's your choice.

April, you didn't KNOW???
All of us get to eat whatever WE want and YOU gain the weight for us.
See, if you'd have shown up at the meeting, we'd have chosen someone else.
Actually, I stick to the same eating plane, I do my morning shake and eat 6-8 x day, this keeps me from having any BIG PIGOUT meals.
I generally lose a couple of pounds during the holidays.

I'm going to try really hard to stick to my diet this year for the holiday's. Last year I didn't and fell off the bandwagon and it took me 5 months to get back into eating right as well as the 10/15 pounds I gained

GOOOO COCKS!!!!!
I just go off the diet on the actual holiday, i.e., Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. I have 13 brothers & sisters & everyone, plus their significant others & children all converge on me & mine at my house & I serve up Thanksgiving dinner. There's no way I'm not eating. I enjoy it! With all the exercise & eating healthy I do year round, I'm not going to not eat Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner! I don't gain a bunch of weight doing this. I guess if I ate non-stop from Thanksgiving thru New Year's -- maybe I would.

Now Lets See...

CTG - now, that ain't nice, us females already have enough difficulty with our metabolisms...great idea, just need a better target, I'm offering up my brother, while your at it please feel free to bang him on the head with heavy objects, I'd say a few times but its gonna take longer than that...trust me he's a worthy target....and much deserving...
Dobegirl - I agree weekly cheat days help immensely or however the heck you spell it...
Fitgurl - I'm there with ya, however 3 months longer though...better late than never
April - I moved to a warmer climate so I couldn't hide under clothes....well thats not the main reason but one of the many... Probably 10 months ago I saw Dr.Phil on Oprah somethin about diets or what not and he made for not gaining back the weight - get rid of all stretchy clothes and all "fat clothes" and keep only what you wear because if you gain weight you'll have no where to go but naked and well most people don't want to run around naked unless your living in a nudist colony...
