Hoosier's Gettin Out The Rust Thread
Whoa! Two months without working out sure makes me feel, well, rusty! Between sick kids, being sick myself, and the baby not wanting to sleep, finding a chance to make it to the gym in the morning has been impossible. But, I am back!
This morning, I began on the weights again after doing cardio only last week. I'm gonna ease back in and not try and go gung ho too soon...my bones are getting to old to do that!
Anyway, here was the workout today:
Squats : 4 sets of 10
Military Press : 4 sets of 10
Treadmill : 20 minutes of interval work.
I tell ya, my legs are already getting sore...I usually don't start feeling sore until the afternoon. I plan on being back at it bright and early tomorrow!

What's funny is when I first got into the weight area, I went to were the squat rack had been. When I got there, it was gone! And I looked around and didn't see it. I thought I was gonna scream, but I finally found it in front of the mirror...crisis avoided

Yeah, the legs were quite sore this morning...but it's the kind of sore you like...makes you feel like you accomplished something.

I tell ya, I forgot how hard it was to get up when that alarm goes off at 4:50am! Well, got myself out of bed, into the car, and to the gym. I did 30 minutes of intervaling on the treadmill. I'm limiting my weight lifting to only two days a week in an effort to get off this excess weight I picked up. Oh my, Mom24 must be laughing her tail off hearing me say I am doing cardio 3 days a week!

The weight is my issue too, hoos, & my plan is almost the same as yours.

Weight day number two for the week. Again, nothing real sophisticated, just basic movements:
Deadlifts : 3 sets of 8
Bench : 3 sets of 6
Then I did 20 minutes of interval cardio. My legs are still sore from Monday...guess that comes with age

Thanks fitnessman..and you're right...especially for fat loss, ya don't need to be messing with things like curls and tricep movements.

30 minute cardio session today...ending my first full week back at working out. The scale told me I've dropped 3 lbs since last Monday. My fat loss rate should pick up now that I have gotten back to drinking water more.
I tell you, when I slack off my workouts, my diet goes to the trash. I had gotten out of the habit of drinking a lot of water, and was drinking a lot of diet pepsi's and stuff. Plus I had been eating like crap...a lot of sweets and other bad stuff. But when my workouts pickup, my diet improves...with me they seem to go hand and hand.

Happy Monday everyone! It was a busy weekend...Baby Hoosier had her first birthday on Saturday! Hard to believe that little Princess has been around for a whole year! She got her own decorated cupcake and she tore into it pretty good!
On Sunday I had to work some because of the mad rush we are in right now...hated having to go the office on a Sunday, but such is life.
But hey, I did manage to get in 30 minutes of interval cardio this morning, so all is not lost!

Hey all...wow, it's been a heck of a week. WOrk has been busy, stressful, and joyous at the same time.
We have deliverables due this week, and we are all pulling ot to get stuff in...everyone is pretty worn out....of course, this leads to major stress.
The joyous part? Raises were announced this week and very nice bonuses were given too...I'd say nice timing on the companies part

New Week
Well, I actually got some rest over the weekend....even got to take a nap yesterday (thanks, hun!). I was able to hit the gym this morning without too much coaxing:
Squat : 3 sets of 10
Mil Press : 3 sets of 8
15 minutes of interval training on the stationary bike.
Plan on hitting the treadmill tomorrow morning for 30 minutes of interval hell. Hope ya all have a great day.
