I have will be switching my work schedule to day shift starting April 19th (1 week) to better suit my needs and workouts.
Going to take a week off before I start my new program April 20th. I will be training with my dad who was a powerlifter in the 80's and 90's, I will be posting vids for form critique, comments, etc.
I will be purchasing a single ply suit here shortly, not sure what kind yet.
Goal: To win the 198 pound division deadlift championship with a 600 pound deadlift.
Note- Yes I know this is not that big of a competition such as nationals, but this is my first one, just looking to get my foot in the door and compete at nationals next year.
I will be posting diet, routines, workouts, etc. in this journal
I work Thursday-Saturday 12 hour shifts, so will probably be updating Sunday-Wednesday.
Lets do this

5 months ain't a lot of time, but an intensive program can be of help for beezy. he's got a long road ahead if he wants to beat Germanic fair and square.
@beezy, you gonna also be adjusting your diet as well? A good diet will definitely help your gains. At times why not do a simulated meet, just to see where you stand.

chest workout went good, got some heavy benching in, 5 sets of 6 reps at an extemely quick pace, started off with 265 for six, by the last set was down to 225 as i was extremely tired. finished off with a chest machine 4 sets of heavy drop sets and dips.
gonna go do some cardio today, maybe play some basketball or walk on a treadmill
tomorrow is deadlift day, plannning to go 455 for 3 sets of 4 as long as my back is feeling good.

april 22nd
what's up fellas. yesterday was a descent day besides having 5 beers and a **** lunch. did cardio last night on the treadmill for 25 minutes. walked at a 3.5 speed with heart rate at 120 followed by about 30 minutes of ab work. got deadlifts today, gotta make sure my back is still not injured, but still gotta have a nice and heavy workout.
goal for today:
3 sets/ 3 reps of 455, if everything is feeling good, should be easy which would be a good sign that my back is better.

great workout today, and back feels great.
deadlifted 455 for 2 sets of 3 reps, and the back started to get tight, but I felt very strong and explosive from the ground
only got 2 reps on the last set.
finished off with some speed sumo deadlifts (225) a row machine, and some pulldowns. overall great workout.
will be working the next three days, so schedule will look like this
thurs night-shoulders
fri-cardio
sat-off
