dried fruit has a lot of concentrated sugar
I would say eat in moderation when you do and not all the time

Occasionally, I eat dried apricots. While, good, they are very calorie dense, so the serving size needs to be watched very carefully.

As delicious as dried fruit is...
For fat loss, I would say probably cut the dried fruit out and stick with whole, fresh fruits. They'll fill you up more when you're cutting calories.
For maintainance, I would say go for it!! Dried fruit is delicious and can fit into any healthy eating plan, and is a much healthier option than quite a few things I can think of! You just have to keep your portions in check.

Can you not dry your own fruit without the sugar? If not, I'll save myself the money on the food dehydrator.

drying the fruit out causes the fructose sugar to become concentrated by crystalizing it which is what causes it to have such a high level of sugar
regardless of whether or not it was store bought or dried yourself the process is the same and the results would be the same - concentrated sugar (which acts as the preservative)
I would say don't waster your money

Depends on ur diet and goals but I love pitted dates! I eat them to fix sugar cravings, so I don't eat half as many jellybeans as I usually would. But I'm good with carbs and bulking also
Dried fruit just doesn't fill u up as much as actual fruit but its good post workout and like I said when u need a sugar/energy fix
