I heard from a GNC lady that our bodies can only take in about 30g of protein per meal. Anything over that goes to waste. Is this true?

theres alot of crap going around about thow much you can digest in each meal, i allways thaught it was 50g. but as guys above said, pros taking in 400+ grams of protein a day get a bit more that 50grams per meal! and there right.
So theres no real answer i guess.
Id say stick to around 40-50.
But thats just me
The thing to remember also is, pro's tend to be a lot heavier that us guys on here. So they will be taking more in anyway...Last edited by musss; 02-11-2006 at 07:25 AM.

It varies from person to person. A typical male can probably only use 30-40 grams of protein per meal. Pros like Ronnie Coleman take in 400+ grams of protein per day because they are twice the size of your typical male and can obviously digest more than 40 grams of protein per meal. Probably more like 80 grams a meal
I aim for 30 grams per meal because anything else (excluding post work out) is most likely just going to waste.best meet lifts @ 132
