A while ago, I was on a forum and I came across a topic where they were discussing an eerie story. The story was posted on a website, and it was in a diary format.

I'll try to recite the story to the best that I can.

There were at least 2 guys. They were both cavers, as in they explored caves for fun. They went to a cave that they had never been to before that was near them, and struggle to get through this little hole. One of the men goes down this hole while the other one stays up. I think the man that went through the hole has a cord attatched to him that the he yanks to see if the guy that waits for him is still there, but anyways, he keeps going, and encounters some monster. It makes funny noises and stuff, and at one point I think he sees its eyes shining back at him in the darkness. Scared, he flees back to the hole and climbs back up, telling his friend what had happened. I'm not sure what happens afterward. But I know that they eventually go back to their homes, only to be haunted by dreams of their experience, and they grow more and more paranoid until one of the men suddenly gets the urge to drive up to the top of a hill by his home. At the top, he finds his caving buddy (the one that was with him when he encountered the monster thing), and the two decide to go back and find out once and for all what was there that night, and that leaves the diary unfinished. You never figure out what happens to them. But the story was still awesome, and I want to read it again. A few months later, the movie "The Descent" started getting advertised, which had a similar plotline to the story I had read before. But the site that I had read the story on was pretty old, IIRC about 3 years old at the least.
