? Wat is a good 100 meter time?

? Wat is a good 100 meter time? I was wondering... I did 100 strides(i'm 6 ft) so that might have been like 125meters+ when i rethink about it now. Anyway my dad timed it w/ my ipod and said 11 seconds. I haven't ran for about a week after select basketball /regular basketball ended and next season hasn't started yet. Just wondering what's a good time. I'm bulking up just wanna cut a little while bulking good foods. thanks

Jell ur hair up like a pretty boy. Dress like a flaming homosexual. Have your parents buy you a bmw. And most importantly walk around like you have a dik up ur azz and talk with a lisp...You do that and you'll get more beaver than a mountain man

At 14 years old I would say an excellent 100m time is anything under 12s.

You dont run a 11 second 100m dash. VERY FEW, if any, 14 year olds can run an 11 second flat 100. My school has an amazing track team and our school record is an 11.00. This was set by a senior who is now a starting cornerback on a D1 football team who has a shot at going to the NFL next year. The only way to get a good precise time is to use a pistol and a good stopwatch, or use F.A.T. Timing.

At 14 i'd tend to believe that time is impossible. Mark off and measure the exact distance, then time it. At 17 my senior yr of hs my best time was 11.4 in the 100 and 22 flat in the 200.

We dont care who you can outrun. If you can run a true 11 flat 100m at age 14 you would be in the olympics in a few years. You probably run a high 12. For a 14 year old anything under 13 is very impressive.

"i can outrun my dad in short distance"

most kids over the age of 13 can do that.

what are your stats on your lifts, because people that run 11 seconds are really strong..

you must not have measured your distance correctly, because if you run an 11 seconds you wouldn't be unsure about whether you can outrun the kids on your team.

That does sound iffy for a 14 year old, but an 11 aint the best, the Texas state track meet you have to run a 10 something to win.

WOW, you must live in a place that have slow people. WHen i was a jr i ran a 10.8 and a teammate of mine as a jr ran a 10.3 100m, and still lost in the state finals, and he is right now going to oregon for a scholarship for football and track.

And 12-13 secs actaully isnt a good time for HS, its a good time if your a freshman, but those arent really fast. In my league and team, all the sprinters ran in the 10's, some were sophs, some were jr's and some were sr's.

If your a freshman and i guess a soph then 12-13 is average, when you start to become a jr then you should be in the 11's and thats just average, fast and above average times for HS, or atleast where i ran track and the way my competition was in the high 10's and the super fast people who qualified for the states or atleast get close ran in the mid to low 10's. We had a few 100 and 4x100m relay california state champs

Well, as a freshman I ran a 11.7, and the fastest on my team was like 11.2 I think, so yeah, you probably timed it wrong.

Crap! 11 would be very impressive for a 14 yr. old. When i was 14 i ran around a 13, and that was flying. As a senior it went down to 10.8 and that wasn't exactly slow either. If your stats are accurate you could compete (possibly place) at a sr. high school level....Shoot i just read the last post by blinkin215. lol. he's got it down.

    I ran a 11.5 on a bad hip as a Junior.

I think I could run a sub 11 easily right now though, if I trained.

11 is very possible for a 14 year old. At our skool the freshamn Recod (14 year old was a 10.88) and our senior recond was a 10.09 in the 100 meter dash. So i dont see why it wouldnt be possbile but also keep in miondif you have a long stride then 11 might be your acually time and if you have a short time then you'd prolly know that isnt your 100 meter time....

No, it wasn't. He'd be in the olympics, not running high school track.

I don't know how accurate that was, but even if it was way off you're pretty fast for your age. Very good indeed. I was fast for my age when I was your age and remember I ran a 12 second 100 metres at 13 (a little bit before I turned 14) at school timed by my phys. ed. teacher.

Last Year In Junior High Track I was in 7th grade and The fastest I ran in the 100m was 12.1 and the kid who won it ran a 11.8. So I Highly doubt that you are running a 11 flat at 14 years old.

I'm 14 with a PB of 11.9s. I average around 12.5s so I think that would have to be a one-off at best.

Btw I know someone who ran in the GB U-16s team or soemthing when he was 16 - he only got 10.8 so people who say they got 10.3 must be in the Olmpics. In fact, 10.3 could win some Olympic heat races.

Dude, Find a football field. Run from one goal line, all the way to the goal post of the opposite end. That is slightly over 100 meters, but not 101. Time it, and you have a better idea of your time. Good luck. Heck, I might go try it now. (With my slow butt.)
Nobody remembers who came in 2nd place.

10.6.... Hmmm... Check your facts before making a comment like that.

World Outdoor Lists 100 Metres 2005 Youth BOYS

    10.31 0.0 Alex Nelson GBR 21 03 1988
    10.35 0.8 Harry Aikines-Aryeetey GBR 29 08 1988

On a side note, I find it funny how people say "no that's impossible because I only ran X time." Although there is reason for doubt, just because you were not classed as an elite runner in your age group it does not mean no one else can be.
