Mass FX Clinical Study at Wright State University
Well I wasn't really sure where to post this, so I just decided on this section. Anyway, one of my friends at Wright State University is taking part in a double blind study for Mass FX. He told me its a 6 week long study that will begin here soon, I guess they are getting their baseline blood testing done this week. Anyone of you Anabolic Xtreme reps know about this?
I guess the point of this thread is just that its cool to see more companies doing clinical studies on their actual product. Very cool.

I think its great to see these types of supplements in clinical studies. There is always a lot of questioning about how efficacious and safe these really are, so this might help clear up any uncertainty.
I just got done talking to the one of coordinators of the study, and I have the opportunity to go tour the facility and equipment being used in the study. I will also get to review the literature pertaining to this study and the protocols being used. So if anyone has any questions, I could probably find out.

Good stuff. Someone just today as bitching about how most test boosters had ZERO evidence to support their product in terms of clinical data.

Awesome man! Back in the day our simple experiments had two variables, I have no idea how they can test the effectiveness without lots of error. It seems to me that Diet/metabolism/body adaptation/training style + countless of other factors skew things in logs and reviews, I am interested to see how they handle it. Post anything you feel like posting

Yeah, there really is countless variables. After I go check it all out and get more detailed information on the study I will be sure to post it up. It should be an incredible learning experience.
It's pretty cool having a close friend taking part in the study too!!

Ok.....I guess this study is more than likely going to be done on the ORIGINAL Mass FX. When everything was being set up, the Maximum Strength version had not been released yet....but the coordinator is hoping that they can get the clearance for the Maximum Strength version.

I'm going to play devils advocate here but there might be some truth behind this especially when it's coming from a rep...
It would be cool if ALL test boosters/ AI's were 3rd party tested...

I don't know....please keep this thread on track. If you have nothing productive to say, then just don't post.

Yea I actually don't see the reason that an extra strength version was necessary in the first place besides marketing purposes. The original is already one of the most effective natty sups on the market. Hopefully the new version will outdo the original in terms of gains/results so me and many other mass fx lovers don't get dissapointed.

Hopefully the study is very well done..
At my school our health and exercise science department usually uses athletes for the studies. The only problem is they use an "honor system" where they tell the athletes to eat healthy, they do not monitor at all and some kids eat absolutely terrible. Most of the data used is reported by the students as well. Basically they get a workout sheet to fill out and some of my friends did it but lied a lot of the time because the HES dean was their coach and they wanted their coach to think they were working hard and getting much stronger.

I know for a fact that not everyone participating in the study is an athlete (if by athlete you mean participates in varsity sports). My friend who is participating is getting ready to graduate with his BA in Biology, and he's off to med school. He has competed in bodybuilding once before, so I guess in a sense he is an "athlete." Depending on how you define the word.
I'm not sure how they are controlling all the variables just yet....I will get in touch with the coordinator and ask some more questions. Hopefully I get some free time in my schedule here in the next week or two so I can go check it out.

I meant varsity athletes at my school, but regardless I just meant to say that my HES department does not do a good job of controlling variables. Especially since a lot of the kids participating are on other things as well.
Either way, this sounds good. Will you be posting any updates in this thread as they come available?

I see. Yes, I will most definitely be updating this as I gather new information. I won't be able to go visit the facility for probably a week or two. For this reason I won't be able to view the literature pertaining to the study until that time. However, I have contact with the coordinator, so I can inquire about any protocols being used.

If you have anything specific that you'd like for me to inquire on, don't hesitate to ask.
I'll try to find out about some of the variables mentioned earlier such as training/diet/other supps used/etc.. etc...g the issue.

Awesome! It's cool when you actually know someone that's in the study. That way you get a first hand look at the structure of the test and an unbiased view as it progresses. Keep us updated.

From Anabolic Xtreme? If so, I have no idea. I am in no way affiliated with AX. This could very well be the same one. It takes a while to get everything figured out between the university and the company.

It's rediculous to even suggest that they would control all variables. I think it's a safe assumption to say that they are expecting people to use some common sense, and be able to see the trend that occurs in the participants. Also an EFFECTIVE product would show results in all but the most extreme cases since they're doing bloodwork.
