Alright guys.. i am thinking of competiting, in a teen or novice division in an NPC Competition. More than likely in the lightweight catogory since i will probobly come in around 155-160ish.
Im 176lbs right now, and yes i no im not cut, but thats because im bulking, if i was going to compete, i would want to gain another 10-12lbs and then cut down a lot.
My stats
Age- 17
Height- 5`1 (Yes very short, i broke my growth plates playing hockey)
Weight- 176lbs
Bodyfat- 17%
Water Weight- 58%
My Diet
Protein- 240 gms
Carbohydrates- 450-580 gms
Fats- Around 90 gms
Carlories- A little over 4000
Right now, my weight is going up amazingly, im just adding weight like its nothing lately for some reason, also no leg pics, but yes i do train legs as u can see somewhat in the first pic. So what do you think? Could i compete?

Considering your only 17 you've built yourself a pretty good base. You have good size all over IMO except for one area I feel which is your back.Could use more width in that area before you consider competing.Maybe concentrate on that area before you do.Of course you could always compete just for the experience to see how you'd do & get some contest experience.

XCriticalBenchX, you look awesome for your age. You could definitely compete. In NPC teen divisions, there aren't any weight classes; they just plop you all into one or two categories (mine was 16 and 17 in one category and 18 and 19 in another). You qualify for teen nationals by just competing in the teen division of an NPC show; you don't even have to place. Just give yourself long enough to lean out, and you'll be fine. I wouldn't shoot for any particular weight, though. You'll more than likely weigh less than you think. Just aim for a certain bodyfat and look (basically, get lean enough). Good luck.

I think if you were in contest shape you would look good as long as your legs are in proportion with the rest of you. And at 5'1" you will look pretty thick even if your weight is down.Last edited by kyle00; 02-02-2006 at 12:56 AM.

bro you got a good physique for only 17, ive seen kids in teen shows that didn't have 1/4 the muscle you do, so go for it! i would start eating real clean right now and don't let the bodyfat get too far out of hand, you got a lot of fat on your lower back and obliques which isn't easy to get off! try eating big but cutting your carbs out sayyyy 6:00 pm, and just eat protein and some good fat and green leafy veggies after 6pm! then do cardio first thing in the morning at least three days a week, this should be a good start in getting your bodyfat under control but being able to still take in enough calories to support good growth, the cardio will help with nutrient partioning!
good luck and go for it!"Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder but don't nobody want to lift no heavy ass weights". Ronnie Coleman.

Use your height as an advantage, also alot of bb's who compete don't have good legs to start out with, you do and believe me, continue to work on those wheels and they'll take you far just so long as you bring up those weak points as well. You'd do well in a competition I'd start 20weeks out from whatever competition you choose to do to make sure you get your bf down to atleast under 5% since you are a beginner.
