No protien before bed for me
I started all my supps this week trying to get back in to a routine. Well I missed a mid day Protien shake so I took it right before bed on Wed. Thurs morn I thought there might be a problem!!! Yep well I just got home from the Dr. and I have a Huge UTI!!! Like normal range for white and red blood cells are between 0-5 and mine were 256 and 310. Just wanted to share watch that stuff before bed!!!

Well after talking to this nurse last night she said it more than likely shocked my body from all the supps and protien sense I just started again. I am going to stay on track and then try it another time right before bed to see if I have the same reaction. Anyone else ever had this problem?

A UTI is a bacterial infection. Consuming protein has nothing to do with it.

You know that makes me mad! I would have changed my whole schedule if you guys would not have said anything. I guess you live and learn thank goodness for forums like this.

It's pretty bad when the medical info you get from an internet forum is better than that the nurse gave you

who the hell is this nurse and how the hell can she give such an irresponsible advice? If i were you, i'd revisit whoever it was that told you this and ask her to provide on-the-spot this "medical knowledge".

I always drink my protein before bed because I work out at night. I've never had a problem. I hope you're feeling better soon.

hey, at least they didn't try to tell you that you might have kidney cancer when a urine specimen came back slightly abnormal. they called me back in and i asked what could cause that and the nurse said "hm, maybe kidney cancer."
i cannot count the number of times they have jumped to ridiculous conclusions or made completely irrational connections between things. i am glad you posted here before changing your whole schedule or before going too long with the thought that your protein shakes might be causing that UTI.
here's to hoping one day that we find actual good doctors!
(oh, and especially, feel better!!)
