What is a proper warm up before running on a treadmill?

Just wondering what I should be doing.

Do speed walking or mild jogging for 5-10 mins to get your heart rate and circulation up. When your body starts to feel warm, then go for the run.

No hard and fast rules here. Do what you need to do to feel comfortable and warmed up.

5-10 minutes of walking whist increasing pace. Dynamic stretching of the calves, Achilles, quads, hamstrings, and glutes.

I normally just start running. Starting speed for me is 6.8 mph, once I start to feel myself loosening up I then increase the speed until I get to cruising speed.

6.8 feels really slow to me, so i am normally ready to up the speed around 45 second, but don't get going full speed ahead until around minute 4.
