I personally hate artificial sweeteners and removed them from my diet entirely. I sacrifice the 16 calories a teapoon for my coffee and i usually dont use sugar for anything else. Really the extra calories you get in a day from eating regular food arent really that high compared to artificially sweetened. I contradict the ads that show smiling people, happily eating their artificially sweetened food. I think it tastes like ass in all food...especially when you have not had any for a couple months. I also dont trust giant corperations and the government to be upfront about the long term health effects of their chemicals; it is a multi-billion dollar industry.
So my opinion says no splenda per day is good.
I dont like how splenda dissolves in coffee, once i tried to glaze some pecans with it. Its compostion changed into some weird blobby substance. Heat up a pan with some butter and throw in a couple tablespoons of splenda and you'll see what i mean.
If you take a sugar molecule(sucrose) and replace 3 hydrogen/oxygen groups with chlorine atoms you get sucralose(splenda).Last edited by jeff232; 01-29-2006 at 07:51 PM.
