What are the main differences between immigration phenomena then and now?
150 years ago, immigrants streamed in on ships and many couldn't speak any English. They settled in the usual slums where road and shop signs were still written in their native languages. And yet despite this, they contributed very much to American society and to its industrialization.
Do we see this with modern immigrants? Why or why not?

American Immigrants: 18th-19th Century vs. Today*** There is no one free of all need, of whom all else are in absolute need, but God ***
Pbuh: If anyone testifies that None has the right to be worshipped but God Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His Servant and His Apostle, and that Jesus is God's Servant and His Apostle and His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, God will admit him into Paradise

Sort of. Hell, I'm impressed when a greek come's to the states with nothing in his pockets, and in 3 years he own's 3 resturants. All due to hard work and sacrifice.
I see it with Arabs and Indians in the ghetto I work at. The blacks complain how they own nothing in their neighborhood, but these guys that work in the gas-stations, and liquor stores, literally work everyday for 12-14 hours a day.

Yes, I think immigration today is similar to immigration earlier in this country's history. I recently heard on the news that something like 95% of third generation immigrants prefer to speak English in their homes. The only thing that's changed, as far as I can tell, is where the immigrants come from, and the power of the entire nation to realize how much immigration is occurring. You've got major corporations offering telephone services in both English and Spanish, but that never happened 100 years ago because the world was just a different place. Immigration is now a national concern rather than a local concern.

The immigrants of 18th and 19th century were legal immigrants that wanted to come here and work hard/stay here.
Now we have an influx of illegal immigrants...and now we want to pass laws for them to stay...
My aunt cant even f'ing visit. We even offered to put our house down as collateral incase she didnt show proof that she left in 3 weeks. They denied her 3 times on absolutely bogus reasons, "not enough travel experience". DUH SHE DOESNT TRAVEL. How are you going to get experience if you arent allowed to travel, wtf. I havent seen her in 4 years, now I have to go over there because this whole system is f'ed up.
DO something about the illegal immigrants please, wtf have laws you dont uphold.
I'm pissedI'm a bear.
