Thyro-Slim A.M./P.M.
Just wondering if anyone had given this a try and if it is effective, especially with helping you sleep? Any input would be valued.

I'm not familiar with it, and I can't comment on the quality. But if you let me know whats in it, I can probably give you and accurate description of what it would do if it is high quality.

Looks like its based on guggulsterones, and I found out from bitter experience that that stuff didn't work. Pretty much as soon as I heard thyro I figured this would be it. Also the numbers don't add up. Usually you take 30 mg or so, three times a day. At 250 mg and 2.5% that gives you only 6.25 mg of guggul, that's way below what is believed to be effective. As for kelp and seaweed, never seen them in a supplement but i'm currently taking them to lower my blood pressure and I believe I can state with deadly accuracy that they don't help you lose weight worth jack.

Three minerals, the only one of them attributed with fat loss capabilities is chromium. Ask J-Rod about it, and most studies do back him up, that chromium does not work. However looking closely at the evidence chromium can indeed increase insulin sensitivity, but only in people who are deficient in it. That usually means the morbidly obese (and even then the statement isn't 100% accurate) And if that were true for you, you'd need 2-3 doses of 500 mcg at the very least every day. So don't bank your money on that either.

The first is Hydroxy-citric acid. You should ask J-rod about HCA too. Now I recently did a review on it and the data is fairly mixed about whether or not it does what it claims to do. IT claimed a lot of things. For me it seemed to supress appetite, but that's all. However all studies do agree that this is not the case. So it was a placebo effect. In that conclusion I have to say that HCA doesn't work either. The usual doses exceed 1500 mg by the way. That's 3 times whats in here.
Then ECA. Aspirin is Salicin, taken from White Willow bark, this is a fotrifying component used to enhance the effect of EC in obese individuals. Other than that it has no use for bodybuilders really. But for it to work you need a decent EC stack, the general concensus being a 200/20. Now at 22% standardization for caffeine, that doesn't give you near enough caffeine and the same holds true for the ephedra from ma huang usually between 16 and 18 percent purity. Do the math, it falls short of 200/20.
Lastly L-Tyrosine is a component of fat loss hormones, and thus very useful to have, but its a non-essential amino acid commonly found in most proteins. Any high protein diet will supply you with infinitely more of the stuff than this product.

huh ? I'm not even getting in to this. Sveral of these things are quite healthy, I'm partial to kava kava for relaxation myself, but the entire blend looks more like something a two-bit homeopath would prescribe for constipation rather than an actual supplement.
I wouldn't waste my money on it ...
If you need help sleeping by the way, ZMA nighttime by Higher Power and some Kava Kava should probably do the trick quite well.

How about Hydroxycut Hardcore w/Thyro-Slim?
Hey All. I'm new around here, so try not to bust my stones too hard. I dug up this post with a keyword search about a product (Thyro-Slim) that most folks have probably forgotten about. I'm a skeptic about most supplements effectiveness but have had limited benefit from this sup. in the past. I suspect the best component in it is the diuretic, and the Kava Kava does help w/rest. I started lifting again (M-F) and cycling (approx. 11-12 miles a day rain or shine) this past New Years Day (yes, resolution and haven't fallen off the wagon yet) and am currently on Cell-Tech and "On" Whey. I'm maintaining a high protien, low carb, low fat diet. I have put on solid mass and have gained strength fairly quickly since I used to lift for High School sports (football, and track many moons ago) and performed a lot of heavy labor at my landscaping and nurseryman's gig back-in-the-day. I have been surfing (as frequently as we get any decent surf) on a recreational basis for the past sixteen years, so my shoulders are in pretty good shape. Anyway, I'm also taking Hydroxycut Hardcore (full dose 2x a day) to assist with getting lean, and I can honestly barely feel the stuff. It does wake me up, but I would hope that it would. Anyone see any problem with adding Thyro-Slim to help bump up the HH? I know there are certainly better thermos but the stuff is cheap. I just don't want any of the components in the TS to compromise the function of the HH. Thanks for any advice. Regards, -S-
