    Gain Muscle Without Lifting?

I recently dislocated my shoulder and now i cannot use it for 4 weeks. This limits the amount of lifts I can perform greatly. Does anyone have any ideas on what lifts I might possibly be able to do safely. I was thinking perhaps squats. But any input would be great. Also is it possile to gain muscle if my diet is very good and cals are high?

If I were you, I'd stick to the obvious: leg presses, leg extensions, leg curls, calf presses (using leg press machine), crunches, and do some cardio on a bike. Nurse that shoulder.
Began training off and on: 8/00 @ 150lbs
    Began serious training: 3/05 @ 177lbs
    Last time I checked: 12/05 @ 198lbs

    I use a 3-day split, with 2 days on, 1 off
    I take Creatine, whey protein, L-glutamine, multi-vitamins
Goals for 2006: Improve upper back and get to 210lbs

Injury is my middle name. Something to think on. If your shoulder is dislocated it may be painfull to rest a barbell on your upper traps for any length of time especially with any decent amount of weight for squatting. Stick to isometric movements for a couple of weeks. Try exercises you might have never thought of using. Have you ever performed "Sissy Squats" in a doorway? Your body weight alone will be enough and your shoulder is completely out of play.....unless you fall on it....j/k. My 4th and 5th discs in my neck have fused together from an older injury and I REALLY do know about working around pain and lack of motion...and when to stop completely.

    take care
