    Exclamation Will Teen Bbing Stunt Height/growth?

    Well yeah theres big rumors where i live that lifting too much at an early age may stunt your Height? as a side effect...

    I dont belive it tho, & there needs to be an article on this and if there already is it should be stickied but yeah what do you guys think about this?

    Easy Dale...

    You are dealing with external loading on a young growing and constantly changing body, the only studies done have been on kids doing 3x10 on some basic iso and machine excersises.

    The truth is we don't know. I have no ****ing idea if walkouts and rack deadlifts with 750+ pounds are gonna **** me up, to me as long as I keep things tight, progress slowly and at a good pace, then I can't be doing anything wrong because even then running and jumping mlore tota compression.

    What scares me is teens who are squatting and deadlifted rounded over, and alot of horrible shoulder health and posture, those are life long coplications there.

    To say 'NO IT DOESNT' is an idiotic comment, we don't know, but that won't stop alot of us so keep it tight, under control, lift heavy and man up bitches!

    dont max out all the time,
    and eat right
    and sleep at least 8 hours, closer to 9 or 10 if you can help it

    lol i started working out at twelve, I was a bit under 5'9 125lbs, im breaking 6' 190 now
    growth plates arent closed, adn im suposed to be between 6'2 and 6'4

    afterall thats bneen said, plus theres no proof that proper lifting stunts growth

    you gotta request it from the doc, its an xray more or less,
    growth plates are essentially cartilage on the ends of your bones that "stimulate bone growth"

    thats a simple explination of growth plates

    bad lifting can damage them, not necessarily a fracture that is described on that page though.
    But you get the idea of how damage can stunt growth

    lifting weight wont stunt your growth. but injuries than may occur can.
