how bad is diet coke for you?? also that lemon flavoured coke (if you have it where you are??!)

well my diet caffeine free coke only contains 35mg of sodium or 1%...theres nothing in it thats bad for you except maybe aspartame

It's not that great, its a ton of chemicals, one every once in a while if you have a soda craving is fine, but drink water instead its much better for you.

everybody says it because it's good for you, milk is excellent, go with 2% or skim though.

agreed. asparatame blocks b6 and a few other vitamins/minerals. it's best not to have it that often.

Aspartame is not bad for you, neither is carbonation, and if you brush your teeth it won't make your teeth brown!

The only thing that might be wrong with diet soft drinks is the caffeine. There was a bit of a buzz about it recently on T-mag, they wrote a long article discussing it called the 'Caffeine Roundtable'

milk is mainly water anyway.

just about any beverage is mainly water. thats not to say any beverage is good for u tho (beer/soda etc).

lol, yea i knew it was bad, but i couldn't help it, at work its HOT! and diet coke has a nice taste to it that keeps u going there ain't much of other options, so thats gay like hell

Aspartame in high doses can cause horrendous problems in the body (I've seen it with an older female friend of mine because she went into the "diet-everything" craze; most diet products have aspartame as an artificial sweetener), carbonation hinders performance in sports, and fructose isn't as good as dextrose for post-workout sugar.

It's funny because these guys at my gym drink coke (only a few times is diet coke) during their workout, and the weirdest thing is that they're big. It's kinda sad too tough, specially when they're trying to lose weight.

people tend to say its bad all the time, but it never really does anything bad.. its just an expense when you can just drink water, which is better obv. just dont drink a litre a day or sumchit, or else your teeth fall out

I did used to ween myself onto the diet soft drinks whenever I felt thirsty. Honestly, they taste like chit (Pepsi Max is OK I guess), but now just buying a cold bottle of water seems more satiating to me now.

Also all the acids that are in it... Ever seen the things where people dissolve a nail in coke? You think it doesn't do the same to your teeth? You can feel it after drinking pop, it makes your teeth feel soft.

Long story short, no. People who say it contains chemicals/acids/whatever are overreacting, all of these are added within safe range, and I would say it is much less harmful for your body than sugar loaded drinks/juices.
