confused about fat

i use to drink pepsi and ginger ale but stopped that 3 years ago and have drunk nothing but water. i go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week and do cardio and lift heavy. i work at night so when i come home i dont eat before bed so when i get up i eat dinner and then supper later....which means i skip breakfast......because i dont want to go to sleep on a full stomach. all this leads to.......im not losing weight at all. im at 290 but want to be 240 or 250.
200 would be a dream!!!! my belly fat still stares at me in the mirror. what im i doing wrong??? any help???? thanks joe

It's hard to tell with such vague information.

Can you post a sample day's menu?

i work at night and come home at 5am....go to bed at 6am and get up at 12:30pm and then eat dinner. dinner is a meat....mostly chicken. broccoli or cabbage. and water. take my supplements and go to gym. come back and more supplements and most of the time i eat peanut butter for supper or oats. and water....lots of water. and thats it. like i stated i do skip breakfast because i sleep and dont want to have a full stomach. my supplements are multi-vitamin, bcaa akg and X-factor which i take before and after my workout. i lift heavy weights at the gym which does work for me as in strenght and muscle growth. i do cardio 15 or 20 mins. hope this helps.....i still stay the same weight.....i want to lose....help.

All you eat is chicken and veggies for breakfast and peanut butter for dinner? Did I read that correctly?

Sounds like you need to redo your whole diet.

Just pretend like the time you sleep is nighttime - the hours don't matter. When you wake up have some eggs whites and oatmeal. A few hours later have some chicken, veggies, brown rice. Then have dinner which can be more chicken, veggies and brown rice (or whatever). Peanuts can be snacks so you get the fat you need. You don't need your diet to be all weird just because you work at night.

Also, sounds like you're only getting like 600 calories. Am I missing something? Don't be afraid to eat!!

Try to eat every 3 hours of the day except when you are sleeping. Get somemore variety in your diet as well, you body can adapt to the fuel you are giving it and even if it is a healthy nutritional plan your weight loss will halt. Also 6.5 hours of sleep isn't enough. Thought I'd throw that out there too lol
