One of the perks of living with Geno
He felt bad for hading us out all afternoon in the freezing rian looking for his dog........................I put flyers in mailboxes so I got a litlle wet but he was the one tearing himself up in the briars and thickets where jhis dog was last seen. He cried in his sleep and talked about how he should have gone after his dog sooner from 1:30 on this morning and i got no sleep.................He thought somebody took him and he was fine but we heard today that he was battered and walking on three legs a couple miles away when a neighbor saw him sunday so Geno's beeating himself up since.
Anyway.......he's been out looking for the dog all day and since he thinks he ruined our day he went by the meat guy and got us some hand cut ribeyes that overflow our biggest plates and fixed us a shrimp dish we hadn't had before.....shrimp diablo yucatan style. It is OMG so delicious, I've never had anything that tastes that good in a spidy tomato sauce.
He asked if I would share so here it is for those of you who truely love food..................I married the best cook I know and I know all the chefs at all the places he takes us to eat...........I managed the nicest place in our town before I met him and that's actually how I met him one frozen January day. Our chefand owner was the best cook I knew before him.
Enjoy.
Shrimp diablo yucatan style
Too big piece of meat lol

Are you happy with your life getting excited to show a piece of meat to strangers on the internet?

Most people who are into a heavy protein lifestyle become good chefs eventually one day.

If it's those same kind of potatoes you posted the other day I must disagree, I made those yesterday and they were awesome. Deff one of my favorite ways to have potatoes now.

i live down the street girl! i would've totally helped you look for the dog for food like that! fo real though i'll be on the lookout. Losing a dog is really almost worse than losing a member of the family, dogs are cooler than most relatives.
coincidentally i am also baking chicken and sweet potatoes atm.

The dog hasn't been seen by us since Friday and was last seen by one of our neighbors on Sunday walking on three legs and battered and looking disoriented a couple hundred yards from the interstate.
We hope to find him and get him healed up but with the weather like it has been we have to realize that hope is fading fast. I'll be surpised if Geno goes to work this week.

nah I'm just baking sweet potatoes the standard way tonight, you can do the same thing with sweet potatoes those, and they're just as good, glad you liked them.

Julienne two pablano peppers and a bell pepper, dice two jalapeno peppers (the real ones, not those Auburn engineered not too hot ones) and throw them on medium high heat with a little olive oil. Julienne a couple of onioins and add them. finely chop 4-5 cloves of garlic and add them when the onions start looking a little clear.Get all that nice and soft and just slightly carmelized and add a couple cans of stewed tomatoes (cut them up a little - nit diced but not halved either make sure all the juice goes in) add a really big pinch of sea salt and get it up to a simmer. Then add a couple cups sliced mushrooms and as soon as they start to wilt throw in a pound or two of any size shrimp. let that just get warm good and they will be cooked when they turn pink. Immediately pull off the heat and let steep for ten to fifteen minutes before serving. It's hot................really hot. The first few bites are not hot at all but as you eat it gets hotter and hotter. Have some bread handy for the weak.

He has a bunch of other dogs but this is his alpha male.
