I've never used craigslist.com, but I've heard good things about it. My son has purchased a few things from there. Note that for the most part though, it is individuals selling equipment privately. Kind of like the newspaper classifieds.

I use Play It Again Sports for used and new some what often. No... I don't work there and yes there were several times when I've walked away from something I've wanted to pick up because they would not negotiate.

My understanding is that they have stores in most major US cities. Not sure about outside the US though.

I also use the local newspaper classifieds quite a lot. From about Jan 31 to May 1 is a great time to buy used equipment from the paper. Lots of the "New Year Fitness Wanna Be's" either purchase or receive new equipment as gifts and then give up because its "hard work" (gee, ya think ?).

I find it makes for some great bargains ! Some of the stuff I find in the classifieds can be negotiated as well. If the seller doesn't get any bites, they might come down in price just to get rid of it.

My home gym (in the garage actually) has a fairly large combination of new, used, and home built equipment.

I've never actually bought anything on Craigslist, but have sold a couple of things. Works great, and there are some great deals.
