Back pains.. working out while sore?

I used to work my back and the next 2 days it would be sore as hell.
Now I work anything and my back is sore as hell.
I worked my chest and shoulders yesterday, and today my lower back hurts pretty bad.
I wanted to work my legs today but I'm not sure if I should.
I mean.. I don't want to hurt my back or throw it out or something but.. I dont see how doing squats can even do that..
And it isn't always my lower back that hurts, sometimes it's my shoulder blades... well.. that whole area I mean.

So.. personally, does anybody think it is it not safe to work my legs or any other muscles if my back still hurts?
Or does anybody have any idea what I'm doing to hurt my back or make it sore if I didnt even work it?

Arlight let me rephrase the question...

Do you think that it's ok to work a certain muscle group if an unrelated muscle group is still sore, or, before working out again, should I wait for full recovery?

(Like if my chest and arms were sore, is it a bad idea to work legs or back)

Any movement you perform will involve the lower back to an extent. Its smarter to just stop working out for a couple weeks and do back specific stretching 3 times daily. Don't reef to hard either, you don't want to make things worse.

Well my chest and back are still sore today... but this isn't something that doesnt happen often. Lots of times it will take up to 3 days for my my chest or back to recover (at least to the point where it isn't sore anymore. And I did hit it pretty hard on chest day)

So back the the question.... working out when other muscles are still sore good or no good?
(I did read your post kopy, I'd just like to see different opinions here)
