Rippetoe's SS is made for packing on as much muscle as possible and eating a lot. You can try looking at New rules of lifting and check out the fat loss section.
What you can also do is supersetting certain exercises (try opposites, either push/pull, or upper/lower supersets), lifting in the heavy range (3-4 sets of 6-8 reps) and doing HIIT. Unless someone here has done SS for fat loss and got good gains.
Make sure you eat clean too.
