    Lunges....

    Hi guys,...

I asked in a previous post about lunges....

I have problems with balance on my right side due to hip and knee injuries, but I know that lunges would be best (even light weight) for my butt.

    Got any suggestions?

Is lunging backward better than forward?
Is alternating better than just stepping on one side for 10 reps?

I find that using a barbel across the shoulders for me, is better than holding dumbells. Thanks

i would have to say the best way to do your lunges if you have injuries is the way that doesn't aggravate your injuries. you are only as strong as your weakest link so if you do them the way it doesn't hurt you then it may strengthen the other surrounding areas. with lunges you don't need a lot of weight anyway. i wish you luck as these and leg presses are my 2 main excercises for quads and they've improved dramatically since i added lunges.Richie

Yeah lighten the weight and do it after the squats and presses, you will be so tired you will HAVE to get the light stuff out.
