Pork fat is primarily monounsaturated and there's nothing all that unhealthy about it. The problem with most bacon is that it has nitrates in it which have been linked to colon cancer, but you can get nitrate free versions such as Hormel Natural Choice Uncured, and you're good to go. I'd say "In before knee-jerk bAcOn=tEh fAtzORz people", but apparently I'm too late.

Fry a couple strips of bacon, use the grease to sautee some spinach and diced onions, then crumble up the bacon strips in it. It's a pretty delicious way to eat some green veggies.

i never found anything wrong w/ a little bacon. what's really good is to crisp up a few slices then crumble them into some mashed potatoes

Anyone tried the precooked bacon, I think by Hormel? I picked it up at the store today and its nutrition facts said there are only 70 cals in like 4 slices...that's less than the turkey bacon I usually get. I wonder what precooked bacon tastes like though...

    Like sh*t compared to fresh pan-fried bacon. I can't stand pre-cooked.

I get Jenny O's Low Fat Turkey Bacon. I'll eat like 27-30 slices a day.

    per slice

    9 slices = 4.5g fat, 0 carbs, 27g protein. Awesome!!

Wow, 30 slices! I do like turkey bacon, but I can't seem to get it to crisp and get wobbly looking like regular bacon. Can you?
