Hello everybody~~!!

Decided that it was def time to get this journaling thing in motion; something to keep my arse motivated and keep me accountable!

My goal, which is that same as last year (and had too many set-backs and not enough knowledge, so I gave up... ), is to get as lean as I can get, to perhaps step onstage in my first figure competition. Hell, I just wanna see my abdominals for the first time in my friggin' life!!

As of the past month, I have been working on my diet, eating as healthy as possible, with minimal cheats. I have started to use the fitday software to log in my food.....

If you have the time, check out the link to tell me if you think that the macros are in line and that if I am consuming too little (or too many) calories to get to that goal.

Welcome Erin!

Hopefully having this journal will help keep you going, I know that I have problems with staying motivated as well. I am also continuing on froma goal set last year that had many of the same set backs as you, as well as just a lot of bad timing lol. It will take a lot of work and dedication, but I hope you get to see those abs! (I want mine back, they seem to have magically disappeared when I had my baby, haha.) I'm sure there will be someone here to give you some insight into your diet, but it sure won't be me, as that is my biggest problem. See you around!

I would say you might be cutting cals just a bit too much...I wouldn't go much lower than 10Xbodyweight

Hello ladies~! Thanks so much for posting. It's so refreshing to be able to talk to other women with some of the same interests as mine. My buddies can't seem to understand why I hell I put myself through this, therfore, they re not ones to speak to about any of this!! I guess it can get rather lonely, but to be expected, since this isn't an ordinary lifestyle.

Cals are low today, figured I would drop them a bit since today is an off day.... do you still think that it is a bit too low?? I am eyeballing my kids' graham cracker snack. Next meal is coming up in a few, so thank goodness!

And what do you gals think about carb cycling?? In order to do that, do I leave protein where it's at, while moving the #'s around with fat and carbs??

Hmm, I'm no master of the diet part but I would say that your cals are definitely too low, even too low for an off day. I think the lowest mine ever drop to (unless I'm sick or some crazy thing) is about 1500. Even then I figure I should probably keep it up higher.
As for carb cycling, well I will be absolutely no help there as I have no idea what all it entails. I've always meant to look into it but never quite got around to it, haha. There are definitely some experienced people here that should be able to help with that though, so if you don't get an answer here, in your journal, maybe try asking in the general female forum or in the female nutrition forum.

The biggest problem with your diet is that the calories are way too low. When you hit a plateau with your weight loss (and you will) where do you go from there? If you go any lower in calories you'll be so deficient it will be scary.

Start with higher calories. See where that takes you. Then move down from there if you have to.

Oh, heck, so I have to eat more?? damn!! haha I'm sure it won't be a prob to add the extra calories in, will be upping them today, for sure. Thanks for the posts!!

I've got a massive headache today. I've popped a couple of Aleve, will prob lie down for a bit to see if it helps. Been up crying all night, The Hubs decided that last night was gonna be a fun night to be a jerk. Bah. I wonder if his back hurts today; sleeping on the sofa can't be all that comfortable!

Had to vent.

Hahaha!! Can't please 'em all the time. My sister and her man got into it last night, too. Grace has been dating this new guy, and worked her butt off in the kitchen to make him mom's famed steak soup (and my sister does NOT cook!!). When asked how he liked her stew, he said it tasted like "prison food'!! WTF?!?! How would he know what prison food would taste like, anyways?? Is there something else that we should know about this new man in my sister's life?!? I'm gonna toss him a soap-on-a-rope just to see his reaction.

Okay, just got off of fitday a bit ago, and planned out my lovely menu. Does this look better? How many calories should I be aiming for?? Normally, I had done about the 1450-1500 range.... was that way too low?

Wow, it must be jerk-week all around. My ex-bf kicked me out back in October, but I've been giving him chances to fix things and he just keeps blowing them. We had a huge blow out last night and like 4 other nights this past week. Ha, maybe some things are better left in the past, I just keep hoping since we have a kid together that he'll grow up.
Anyways as far as calories go, I'm not sure. If you're trying to lean up right now (which I gathered from your original post is you are), then you might be okay with the 1500 range. As was posted above:

So going by that, you would be more on track (if your stats in your profile are current) with 1500 calories than the 1100 or so it was the other day. I would imagine myself to be starving on much lower than that. Hope you are doing well today!

Hey ladies!!

Well, must say, that today has been much better, plus the sun is out, and that alone does wonders for my moods. Not only that, but the husband was a COMPLETE suck-ass yesterday when he got home from work. I shoulda made him empty out the dishwasher last night then, ha!

Today is leg day. I used to dread leg days, but since I put mirrors up in my basement gym, it becomes more motivating to see everything in action. Plus, I have an old-man's flat ass; gotta do something about that, for sure!! lol My gf's in high school used to make fun outta my pooor lil' rear. Jeez. 10 year reunion is this year, would love to see where they're at!

I think your diet looks pretty good from what I saw. I would add CLA and flax oil to your diet as well, they have helped me feel satisfied and lose weight

I'm sorry to hear about hubby, I think we all have those days when we're less than nice to each other!
I looove leg days and I have a huge ass and legs to prove it LOL(they're covered with fat right now!!) I would recommed doing lots of straight leg deadlifts, regular dead lifts, squats and lunges. That is how I got my butt...plus running track in high school! I got made fun of and called "bubble butt" in high school...I guess people will just use whatever they can to pick on you!

I must agree. I don't think it matters what "type" of ass you have lol, people will always find some way to make fun of you for it.
It's good to hear that you were better today. I am only dreaming of sun right now (by that I mean real sun, we've had some sun but I don't like to count it when it's sunny and minus 40 with windchill, that's when the sun is teasing me lol.) Also good to hear the hubby's over being a jerk at the moment!

Oh, yes. Things are much better. Once in a moon, stuff has gotta hit the fan!! lol

Diet was on today, and the workout kicked my arse. Doing cardio in the early morn, before I drop my daughter off at school in this freezing ass cold. Yuck. I am so ready for warm weather.

Suppposed to be hosting a jewelry party tomorrow night. Thinking about canceling it.... so, if the weather's gonna be bad, it had better get bad before 6:30 tomorrow, then I would have a great excuse to get out of this spiel!

I hear you on the weather thing. I went to the gym at 5 this morning and froze my tush off. My water bottle froze in the car and so I only got two sips of water during my cardio ;(

Hey lady!!! It has been too damn cold here in Kansas City. I needed to get some shopping done, so I had to bundle the babies and take them to the store in this crap!! I hate it; so ready for warmer weather!!

Not only that, my damn treadmill is out of comission.... totally peeved bout that!! Just got done with my leg workout (which was kick ASS, btw), and hopped on the treadmill to cool down. (Well, I didn't "hop" on it; if I had, that would prob explain why the damn thing is down!! lol). DH had a look at it; he believes that it is fixable. Some support bracket thing. Jeez. If it's not one thing, it's another!!

Well, anyways, like I said, today was leg day. I lifted HEAVY. And when I say heavy, I mean heavy for this girl!!! I am working with an awesome gal to get in the best shape of my life (to finally get over this plateau that I am in, and to perhaps step foot onto that stage SOON) and she has me doing reps in the lower range. So, I upped those weights, and I upped 'em good!! lol I deadlifted 100 pounds tonight, and that completely shocked the h*ll outta me!! YAY!! For a while there, I thought that I was gonna p*ss myself near the end, seriously!! lol

Well, hope to hear from everyone again soon.... AND STAY WARM!!!

Wow, good to see you had a great leg day! Sorry to hear about the treadmill though...good thing he thinks it looks fixable!!! Anyways, I'm totally with you on the warmer weather thing. I hate winter, we've been having this awful -40C snap the last 2 weeks. My ex had our daughter thank god, she's only 1 1/2 so it is really hard for me to justify taking her outside for anything, even if it's just to get in the car ha. I have this snowsuit that makes her look like a giant silver marshmallow and I'm sure if she could she would tell me she hates it because she is forced to waddle and can't really move her arms well. Hope you stay well and definitely keep at it, plateaus are hard, but when you get through it you will be so increadibly happy and it will make all the extra hard work worth it!

LOL, give the hair color a day or two to settle in before you decide whether you hate it or not! I color my hair on a whim all the time and have ended up liking pretty much all of them, but it does take a day or two to get used to seeing yourself with a different color hair. As for the diet, don't feel bad. I was doing inventory at Friday, Saturday and today (and I work with men) so I definitely cheated on my diet about 10-fold this weekend. Hope the rest of your weekend was alright!

Ahh, I'm still here!!! I haven't slacked off at all, just have been computerless at the homefront (which SUCKS!)!

Diet is on, and I swear: there are major changes taking place in this body!!

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone!!

Diet has been on, and results are becoming more visible. Went to my in-law's house yesterday to celebrate my daughter's BD. Skipped out on the cake and ice cream, but got into my lil' travel cooler instead to eat meal #5 (chix and cottage cheese on the menu). I did recieve some pretty strange looks, and I overheard my husband in the next room explaining the reason for my eating CC while everyone else was imbibing in cake from Cold Stone Creamery. What a good boy!!! hehe

Ah, well. Gotta take some pix on Friday to show trainer; that's motivation enough!! Perhaps I should take pictures every Friday to keep my arse in gear!!

Had my daughter's BD party tonight; she's 7 now. Family came over. I had been SOOOOO busy cleaning house, doing chores, getting stuff ready in time for the gig, that my workout didn't get the chance to go as scheduled!! So, as of 9:00 PM, I'm getting ready to go hit the weights.

And, I am a bit peeved at myself. While cutting the cake (and WHY was I the one doing that?!!?? I had to make and frost the damn thing, like that wasn't bad enough already.... shoulda had my mom or someone do the final bit!! sheeesssssh!!) I licked my fingers to void them of frosting, then popped some "bites" of the damn stuff into my mouth!!! Ahhh. There it went: a day's worth of clean eating, taken away by a moment of sheer bliss. *sigh*


Like I said, I'm off to hit the weights.

Thanks for your feedback, ladies!!!

Workout went great last night, too. Ended up working shoulders and abs, with a HITT session for a finale. It kicked my butt, for sure!!

Lower body today, then an off day tomorrow. Gotta have Hubs spot me today; sometimes I wish that I had a Smith machine here. Ah well. Squat, squat, squat!!!
