Why would an all loving god create dangerous animals/insects?

Why would an omnibenevolent god create scorpions, , great white sharks, black widows, bullet ants etc etc. If humans are the most important beings in the world, and animals don't go to "heaven", why on earth would an all loving "father" create creatures that really don't do anything other than negative things to humans? Does he get off on this? Did he not have control over evolution? I don't get it. I mean Asian Giant Hornets are 2" long and have venom that has the ability to dissolve human tissue. WTF??? I mean, really, is that necessary?

To me, the types of species we see in the world completely makes sense in light of the theory of evolution. These species don't make sense if there is some all knowing, all loving creator out there.

Before I bother answering, are you asking a real question or trying to start a fight? No lying either.

I guess it means he is either omnipotent but not benevolent, benevolent but not omnipotent, or omnipotent and benevolent, but not omniscient.

It's the whole problem of evil thing, no?

Sort of. I used "why would god create bad animals" because theists typically argue that god doesn't "allow evil" he "allows free will". So with insects/animals they can't use that excuse.

Apparently "God" is a pretty smart fellow, I'm sure he could figure out something else to do other than creating a creature that if I go too far out in the ocean will rip me to shreds and swallow me whole...

Everything works in harmony, just because you or any scientist cannot understand why does not mean we can question any of God's creations.

    Nice cop out.

You as a man of science would already know that science is only in its baby steps and there are many many many gaps and much knowledge that needs to be uncovered.

But I consider my self religious and try to act in a religious way in real life, I tend to believe that everything is created for a reason and everything happens for a reason.

I used to think in my younger years, Why did God create ants? they are so small and insignificant. But now I realize that these small insects have value in this life. That goes to everything and all of Gods creations.

Thanks for your comments. Now if you aren't going to add anything of value to the thread I'd suggest not posting. Thanks.

lol, obviously you think my post is useless.

But when someone makes a thread about God and doesn't even believe in God you should expect people like me to give their opinions.

Sorry but us humans don't know everything in life and just deal with it. You can't be all knowing.

No I explicitly stated that these insects and animals existing IN LIGHT OF EVOLUTION make sense to me. It doesn't make sense if there is an all loving god who places human life above all others.

This is just an atheist "no God of the gaps" premise. Just because you don't understand why God does something doesn't mean there isn't a valid reason. Personally, I think God let's nature's laws work, and things evolved to where they are today. Bugs will be bugs.

And I'm asking WHY! Did you miss that part? It seems like a fairly simple topic. "Bugs will be bugs"? Again, why would he want us to suffer and get hurt by these animals, or possibly killed? What is the value? There is no other explanation in my eyes other than...god doesn't exist...or god is entertained by seeing his crazy creations hurt humans. Im giving you an opportunity to explain logically why.

God created life, and lets nature run its course. EVERYTHING dies, and dying is not a bad thing, it's a part of life. You look at death as the end, but in reality it is not. So, to you death is this vastly important occurrence that ceases your existence and that God allows it to happen is some vast evil to you, but to God it's just another part of our existence. God lets nature run its course (including the bugs, which evolve into crazy scary super bugs every now and then), and when we die we move on to the next step of our existence. That's not very well written, I know. I'm playing with my kids while I write this, lol.

Again "god lets nature run its course" implies that God had no control or knowledge about what was going to happen. So just as Jean-Paul said...

Either god is omniscient but not omnipotent...he is omnipotent, but not omnibenevolent. Or... he doesn't exist.

Maybe the shark in the ocean does not do you any good. Actually this shark will probably eat you alive.

But I am sure that this same shark that will kill you serves a lot to preserve ocean life and a balance in the sea.

Im not an expert in this but this applies to the rest of these "dangerous creatures."

Mufasa in the Lion King explains it well in his circle of life theory that he was explaining to Simba. Where the lion eats the gazelle, the gazelle leftovers become soil fertilizer, grass grows to feed more gazelles etc etc.

It doesn't mean that at all. If God sets the rules, creates the system, and then lets the system run its course how would that imply any such thing?

think of the world as an operating system

    now think of this

    zebras are good and kind

    zebras only eat grass

    lions are bad and mean

    lions eat zebras

if no lions existed then zebras would eat grass freely

and eat and eat and have more baby zebras and they would eat

so no more grass and all the zebras die

    lions eat zebras

    zebras eat grass

    it's a balanced system

EXACTLY! So why did he set the "rules" that would allow these creatures that all they do is hurt us exist!! It makes ZERO sense unless we blame natural selection WITHOUT a god.

Yes, as already stated in the OP, IT MAKES SENSE IN LIGHT OF EVOLUTION. An all powerful god could do WHATEVER HE WANTED to achieve balance.

Yes this all also applies to his original question that regards the hurting of humans.

Who knows what the fate of us humans would be if these creatures did not exist.

We're back to the "no God of the gaps" argument again. You don't understand God's intent, so He can't exist, which is a logical fallacy.

I don't claim to understand all of God's purposes either, but in this case I kind of assume it's something along the lines of letting children do things that you know may hurt them, because it's part of growing up. A large portion of our purpose in being here is to learn. Life experience, pain, suffering, all have the potential to teach us.
