    Sodium Depletion

Im a little more than 3 weeks out from my contest, and Im trying to plan my sodium depletion. Looking at most foods alot of them have sodium....And although kind of a nutrition question, i wanted to know what foods you all eat when sodium depleting. If possible could someone who has been involved in contests try to outline how i should approach the sodium depletion process.....Thanks in advance!!

By the way: what do you all think of fat free/sugar free/carb free jello for contest prep as a snack....any reason not to eat it?

Again, sorry for the food question in the contest prep....but Ive gotten more responses and better info off this board and also its all relative to my contest prep

look for low sodium tuna at the grocery store, they do have it, eggs aren't too bad, but don't eat more than 10. Your best bet is low sodium chicken breasts. I eat about 6-7 per day durin the final 4 days before my contest. sugar free jello is fine but do note that it has 10 kcals per serving and one package makes four serving...so that's 40 extra cals (equivalent to 10g of carbs)

If you can find a protein powder with low sodium, that'll work. I use MaxPro from Max Muscle, it only has 18 mg of sodium. Most fresh vegetables don't have sodium either. I'm not a Jello expert, so I can't tell you about that one. I'd just say look at the ingredients and make sure there's nothing you might want to avoid.

Basically the last week you will be feeding on chicken, eggwhites, fish whitenings, broccoli and potatoes.

Buy your chicken fresh, not frozen wich is higher in sodium. Buy fish whitenings frozen. Boil them in sodium free water before cooking them and add Nosalt and/or lemon for flavor, nothing else.
