Hey what do you all squat for your working sets?
I do 385lbs for my first working set and then 405 for my second one. First set is 8 reps and second is 6.

Bad knees run in my fam. Both my grandfathers have had both their knees replaced. My dad's gonna have his done soon. Me, im a moron and jumped off a 20' wall during the summer and messed up my knee.
Yesterday, for the first time since early august, my knees started feeling better, and i did legs for the first time. For the past 2 months i've been taking in massive amounts of olive oil, and not only have my gains gotten better, but my knee's feel better. I got some duke ass knee braces, and went all out. It felt great, it felt even better falling down the stairs this morning cause they hurt so much. God, it feels good to be able to do legs again.
Enough rambling though. I like higher reps for legs. In the 12+ range. I squatted 265 for 18 reps yesterday before my legs gave out and the weight went crashing down to the safety rails.

Hey BR,
Do you do box squats with your bad knee? Theres a college guy I know who blew his knee out and has just switched to box squats since he can't do normal ones. He said they are the better than the normal ones for him. Tried them?
Leverone2k..
I forgot where i read it, but it talked about efa's being really good for your joints.

Nah accually they don't hurt ya. Heres an article from Westside Barbell Club about them:
http://www.deepsquatter.com/strength/archives/ls9.htm
These guys use them and most of them squat well over 700lbs+ and haven't complained. It's Powerlifting but hey it might work. Or you can just go to touch and go. Once your ass touches you go right back up. Hope this helps,

Look at ed coan he squat 1003lb at 242lb body weight has he got bad knee no....look if u have an injury in dedling with ur knees u dont squat u leg press...whats all rhis bull about going Not passed 90*....if u r not supposed to..then why i the human patella (Knee joint) can go past 90*....it all come down to who can lift the bigger weight and ego in my book....if i go 90* i can squat 345kg without using any equipment except belt..oh yeh powerlifters have to go below 90*

lol...................maee uh u cuuld ah tke a splling corse and then we could all understand what the **** you're saying. Over 700lbs???? and you're complaining about people talking ****.....LOL Sure you can naturally squat past 90 but with hundreds of pounds on your shoulders ITS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. Bodybuilding isn't about ego. It's about size, symmetry, proportion, muscularity, and definition. Not everyone will hurt themselves by going heavy and going past 90 but you INCREASE THE RISK.......and that's just the way it is you ego****ingtistical lying piece of ****. It's guys like you that won't make it anywhere BECAUSE of your ego.

oh dear.....i forgot, u r a body builder, not a powerlifter. dame i just want to be strong and weigh in at 242lb at 5ft 10 and have 7%b/fat...but that is **** for a powerlifter at 21yrs of age.
anyway i was here to put out a point that, my own views have been reshearched by the university of Newcastle into the hazards of squating past 90* and the corrilation between only squating 90* ( what are the diffrences) oh dear the results came out that both showed the same signs of slight damage of knees......what else can i say. but that u suck cok...opp's COCK
