    Stone Cold Steve Austin's routine!

    This was from 1998.

    Monday
    Squat - 5 or 6 sets
    Straight-legged deadlift - 2 sets
    Barbell shrugs - 2 sets
    Dumbell shrugs - 2 sets

    Tuesday
    Bench - 3 or 4 sets
    Incline bench - 2 sets
    30 mins cardio

    Thursday
    Barbell rows - 2 sets
    Dumbell rows - 2 sets
    Barbell shrugs - 2 sets
    Dumbell shrugs - 2 sets
    30 mins cardio

    Friday
    Barbell press - 2 sets
    Dumbell press - 2 sets
    Close-grip bench - 2 sets
    30 mins cardio

Always 6-8 reps, rarely beyond failure or lower than 6 through risk of injury. A few sets of 10 to warm-up.

He said for him lifting was just a release, and he'd been lifting weights since he was a child and couldn't imagine life without lifting. It also assisted power moves in wrestling. He still drunk his Guinness's and Budweiser's because he wasn't into bodybuilding, and did cardio to assist his wrestling schedule.

If he only had 5-10 mins to work out on a Monday, Thursday or Friday, due to being on the road or whatever, he'd just do one set of 40 reps with 265 on squat and that would cover it all! No warm-ups!

    Good stuff.

He should've done Hindu squats like Benoit to strengthen his knees.

The condemned? Yeah, he got in quite good shape for that. He definitely did steroids in late '97, 98 and probably 99. Big size difference in him if you compare 1998 to, say 2001. He went big in early 2003 too when he returned. Austin always had quite a big natural frame though, his legs were especially good, massive calves.

saw Austin recently. he is pretty big . says he 's like an inmate. with less to do and more time to lift and eat plus less cardio, he says that's why he is bigger.

I read you're supposed to do them in high repetitions and that they help strengthen the knees

why does he have to do direct arm work to have a good routine? heavy bench and overhead press will overload the triceps and heavy rows and pull downs and dead lifts will overload the biceps, unless you are training for a contest as a pro bodybuilding those heavy movements will do wonders for your growth mroe than any direct arm work
