i got injured from arm wrestling... the pain is in between my elbow joint and my forearm... the doctor said its just a muscle strain and it should heal... i let it heal, the pain got better (because I wasn't arm wrestling or working out), but today I arm wrestled again, and I was arm wrestling my teacher... obviously I didn't expect to win, but my left hand i got beaten in like 10 seconds, it took some time, but the right arm, right as I put a little force from my right arm, i felt a sharp and very painful pain right in the front part of my elbow, and my arm just dropped (because the last time I pushed through it, the pain was unbearable and I couldn't even move my arm, so I just decided to lay it down)... does this mean I can never arm wrestle with my right arm again :O?

im in Canada so i get this kinda stuff for free, but the doctors don't just prescribe an MRI... when I had da slipped disc, I went so many times before the damn doctor actually decided to prescribe me an MRI... I'm going to go talk to him about this pain and ask for an MRI scan to see what's wrong with my right arm.

well, when i arm wrestled like 3 weeks ago, and my arm was injured badly, i couldn't lift anything... like it would INSTANTLY start aching like crazy. after 3-4 weeks rest, i was able to bench again and lift again without too much pain, i just felt a sense of weakness in my right arm, and i felt it because my weight had dropped significantly (the weight i was lifting). i don't get pain when weight lifting unless i exert force in an exercise (that uses the same movement as arm wrestling), and today when i was arm wrestling, i didn't push back because the last time i did, the pain was UNBEARABLE... and i couldn't move my arm for the whole day, and the pain didn't heal for a long long time. i have a check up appointment with my doctor on tuesday, im gunna ask then to have it checked out by a specialist, and maybe go return to the physiotherapist.

It sounds like your distal bicep tendon could be the problem. I tore mine about a year ago and had to get surgery to repair it... I had the same pains that you have expeirenced, before it tore. You need a MRI to show you if there is any damage. Tendonitis is when your tendon is tearing little bye little, not good! Go to the Orthopeadic doc., get some PT, and give at least three months of rest from anything... It took me about five months after the surgery to hit the weights. Good Luck!

How about you do some wrists stretches and wrist curls, and grip exercises which will strengthen your tendons and ligaments so when you arm wrestle, they can withstand the sudden jolts of pressure. Perhaps you will win too because that increased strength is what you need to win arm wrestles anyway.
Good doctors will tell you to stop being a pussy and tell you to train properly to build up your weak points..not everyone will just tell you to rest
ohh perhaps do some forearm massages too, which you should be doing exery so often with arm wrestling anyway to make those muscles work more efficiently-//---------------------------------//-->

lol i can't do strengthening exercises because my arm starts hurting too much and i can't grip the weight anymore, i can't hold onto any weight at all if i exert my arm too much, it becomes completely useless no matter how much i push myself to hold the weight, its like my arm wont allow me to hold it. i am going to persevere through this, and no im not gunna take rest constantly to let it heal, i will however stay away from arm wrestling a little until im a little more trained finger strength wise and wrist wise to be able to exert more force to beat my teacher finally... but before i do that, i just want to get it checked out with an MRI to see if its something serious or not, before i go and completely destroy my arm for future use. thanks for the advice tho u know what exercises i can do to strengthen my wrist and my fingers and strengthen my grip and make me an overall better arm wrestler ?

no idea, i guess my arm was just vulnerable... this injury (at not such an intense level) occured to me last year as well, but it eventually healed. i arm wrestled some big big guys this year, and then teh pain eventually just came back, where i stopped for a while and continued to arm wrestle... the pain just came.

Arm wrestling isn't the smartest move for a bodybuilder, if you ask me. I know people that've messed up the tendons in their arm so bad that they were unable to lift as well as the used to ever again. When I was younger, I gave arm wrestling a shot with a guy twice my size... I resisted him pretty good until, like you, I felt a sharp pain in my elebow. For the next.... month or so, I was messed up... I had a hard time gripping a glass of water because of that tendon... did a little research and they said that was the most common arm wrestling injury (micro tears in the tendons)
I haven't arm wrestled since then...don't think it's worth all the time you have to take off from lifting for it... Just remember, pain in the elebow is a common thing after a serious arm wrestling match.....Doesn't mean you shouldn't get it checked out... I just wouldn't be too worried about it... My arm is back to normal and I thought I had torn something back then.

I arm wrestle myself and know what you are feeling. When the injury occured you have been out of position and you will have damaged the tendon.
My advice would be to use RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. Make sure that you do not wrestle for a month, by that time your arm should be getting ready to train again. When fit ensure that you train to increase tendon strength, just make sure that you stop if you feel any more pain as you could be set back by a couple of weeks otherwise.

What you have sounds like lateral epicondylitis, or "tennis elbow" You have aggrevated the tendons of which join the muscle fibres, and tissues to the elbow joint. You can confirm this if it hurts on the elbow joint when "gripping" or "lifting" objects with the arm.
You need to ice it, rest it and quit arm wrestling.

I broke my elbow arm wrestling about a year ago, had to have an operation to put a screw in they taking it out on the 8th of feb.
just dont arm wrestle again for some time i think is best, i thought what happened to me had never happened to anyone else before but apparently its 'quite' common, in as much as it has happened a fair few times before
