Arrow Shoveling snow+upper body work out?

Question for you all....

We just got a bunch of snow that needs to be shoveled. But, I was planning on doing an upper body workout today.

Would it be a bad idea to shovel, eat a good full meal, then go work out? Or would I just be stupid doing this?

What do you do on days like these? (Assuming you live somewhere that gets snow regularly.)

depends on how much shoveling there is to do...i personally must shovel a lot and will therefore push my workout to the next day ( but i dont miss the workout, i just postpone it)

I live in MN... I look forward to snow days, as I turn snow shoveling into a CARDIO workout...

While it doesn't go well with an upper body lift on the same day, it can be one hell of a cardio session.

When I have to shovel on a day where my Split lands on an upper body day, I just push the upper body lift to the following day.

Hi Ashely,

Keep this in mind too...there is different types of snow...I live in MICH and the snow that we get is WET snow...mucho mass heavier, then powder...either way by the time I'm done with my driveway and the sidewalks and my old guys sidewalks and driveway I'm usually soaking wet under the Carhardt's, then just as I'm ready to go inside and take a shower...the city comes by with their plows and I have to re-do the end of the drive way and the sidewalks in front of the house. I find the workout to be good cardio, but also really good with the hamstrings and Glutes, I do however try to "throw" the snow as far as I can to work the upper body too.
By the time it's all over and done...so am I and I'm ready for a some time to relax...I consider if we get more than 4" of snow then that's good enough for a workout that day. On the rare occassions that we get a "dusting" of dry powder...that's when I break out the leaf blower and blow off my driveway...one neighbor saw me doing that and laughed at me...funny next powder day he did the same thing!

Snowblowers are for whimps! Leave blowers are for a genius!

Mike
