You have to be careful with these numbers. People have short attention spans. The 51/41 poll was done after the Tucson Memorial/political rally. People tend to look up to the President after a major event.

As recently as Jan. 4th, he was at 46/48. The bump he got and the small bump he may get from the SOTU address will be short lived. They usually are.

I've been watching the 'pre-game' show and the feel-good stuff has been a large part of that. They featured Jimmy Fallon doing standup comedy, a segment on the military doormen and how they felt "honorable," Michelle giving a speech to child musicians telling them to "believe in yourself..."

There's a whole bunch of kids right now giving their testimonials about their "feelings..."
