    Carbing up for comp.

I know there's been alot of topics on this, but out of your personal experience, how many grams of carbs do you load with before a show? I know all about carb depletion and tapering off my water intake, but am still not sure about the carb loading. Any help would be great!

It depends on how much you weigh, how carb sensitive you are etc. What bodytype do you have? Are you taking AS? All these things make differences.

Well, I'm 4 weeks out and I'm at 169 lbs, and about 4-5% bf. I am pretty carb sensitive, at least I believe I am. Not sure what you mean when you say AS.

AS=anabolic steroids. since you don't know I assume you are not. when you ingest a large amount of carbs do you tend to become fuller and more vascular or do you look bloated and smooth?

No, I'm completely natural. Here's what I've experienced so far. A few weeks ago I freeked out and ate everything in site! Donuts, candybars, chips, you name it, all within 30 min. I looked and felt like **** that whole day, but when I woke up the next morning I was shocked that I actually looked more solid and full!! I know this is a pretty bad example of "carbing up", but that's the closest I've come to increasing my carbs while dieting. Hope that helps!

Every one is different. I personally start eating carbs the Friday before a show. I eat 8 meals with about 40g of carbs each. 4 of the meals contain a protein source providing 25g of protein. On Saturday(day of the show) I eat one meal about 2-4 hours before prejudging consisting of 40g of carbs and 25g of protein, then 20 minutes before going on stage I eat salted oranges and jolly ranchers. After prejuding, I eat 2-3 more meals with 40g carbs. One of these meals also contains 25g of protein. Again before going on stage, I do the quick carb up with salted oranges and jolly ranchers. I use sweet potatos or sweet potato chips for the carb sources. I also use glycerol.
