who has been watching American Gladiators? I can't help but think its a little rigged. Who is going to make it to the very end of the eliminator and not be able to conjure up enough strength to make up the moving ramp? I am sure you are dead tired at that point but last night the guy tried and tried and couldnt make it and then once the other guy made it he suddenly had no problems. whatever! anywho, the gladiators are Hot! I still wanna be on there. Helga is a scary chic though!

But i think i kinda agree that it may be a bit 'rigged'.
I mean really, the eliminator may be a bit tough after going through 3 prior events...but they look like they are dying.
Everyone seems to have trouble on that cargo net too.
But seriously, that thing isn't tough.
At a summer camp that i used to attend, there was an obstacle course that included a 25ft cargo net, and just about everybody easily made it up with no problems.

You know I have to agree with you after seeing similar Japanese shows like Sasuke / Ninja Warrior / Viking but sadly aMerican Gladiator the only thing similar to them in the US.

I remember watching and interview and it showed the gladiators benching 135...
they are weak in real life, just look big!
A few of them may be weak, but i doubt that Titan is.

I made it to the last few rounds of tryouts (miami). I had lunch with Terry and he said he wanted to get a tampa boy in it. I had my hopes up then received an email stating that they where sorry and im not what they where looking for. Im going to make that show next year.

not saying im big now... but if i where to get any bigger my chances of joining the show would be slim. they look for people that are smaller then the gladiators. terry told me roughly in the 175-195lb range. im right where i need to be. only guys im worried about is titan and the huge black dude. I seriously had one of the best bodies (not biggest) out of the 50 contestants i tried out with.

I always wondered why they never have bigger contestants. Are the afraid the Gladiators will be put on their asses by a more dominant contestant? It would be a lot more interesting if they had 200lb guys going up against these Gladiators.

yeah, the gladiators are supposed to be alpha. they picked some pretty boys with acting experiance... yes they are also physical, but they want more of a hyped up show than anything. I mean seriously I saw some 5'5 140lb (ripped) guy dominate the gladiators... it was sad.
