not really sure, But i drink a shake before i go to bed and i make it with milk and since it lines the stomach and slows down digestion i sleep really good. always go to bed with a full stomach.

Since it's high in calcium yes it is. You also may try getting a combination of calcium and magnesium if you really want to sleep.

Any large meal helps to as the body has to use larger energy to digest it - that's why I always collapse on the sofa after Sunday lunch lol. I'm not sure about straight milk but I know warm milk does help you sleep. That's why it's often given to babies. Apologies for the lack of referencing.

Milk has casein in it, which digests very slowly, so you drink some at night it will stay in your stomach for a while... I believe thats right

Sounds right. Would certainly fit with the idea of using milk to line ones stomach before boozing.

hmm i will have to try this, i've always used whiskey or pot to knock me out, this sounds a tad bit healthier tho.
also rubbing one out tires you out a good amount.

I asked a nurse at the hospital a few years back.
She said yes, milk does help you fall asleep, as it is higher in fat (oily) so it coats the inside of your stomach.
It's also why you don't want to drink milk when you have nausea or vomiting frequently (like the flu).
I really don't know why, but that's what she said, and from personal experience, helps me quite a bit...

Sorry but that is a myth. You see Milk is one of the best anabolic sources to drink being its a complete protein. Yes it has casein in it but it also acts like a carb when entering the body so it does provide energy. But also there is a twist because it has tryptophyn in it so it can make you sleepy. But a friend told me a long time ago to try warm water before you go to bed. When I use to drink it I got use to it and it actually worked. Also digestion takes energy and by your stomach working on digestion it can keep you up. Hell try it everyone is different.

I always thought it was "Warm Milk" which did the trick. As when milk is warmed, The Melatotin is activated and its that hormone which helps with calming the body down.

I have a glass of warm milk before bed. Some ppl think it tastes gross but its got so many vitamins and minerals and best of all, casein--a slow digesting protein. Nice combo
