What order do you do the exercises in?

For example, on chest/Bi's day I go:

    Bench (chest)
    DB Curls (bi's)
    DB Bench (chest)
    Reverse Curls (bi's)
    Machine Flyes (chest)
    Chin ups (bi's)

And I separate the muscle groups by an exercise so that I can lift more, but I see a lot of people in my gym go all chest and then all bi's:

    Bench
    DB Bench
    Flyes
    BD Curls
    Reverse Curls
    Chins

Which way is the most effective?

in my opinion it all depends on the individual. me personally I always start with the largest muscle im working that day.If I were using your workout I'd start off with chest, but not necessarily do the ENTIRE chest before any biceps. I'll do flat bench, then prolly incline dumbbells, then maybe do two bicep workouts, then finish with another chest workout. It helps let those muscles recover before you work them agian.

Yeah, I start with the largest muscle too. Basically I break up the chest workouts with bi workouts so that I can give that muscle group a bit of a break and lift more when I come back to it, but I was wondering if it would be better for hypertrophy to do it all at once.

IMO no. if you did them all in a row, your last set of your last exercise you would be extremely tired and sore. you would gain more by splitting it up with other muscle group exercises

I start with what ever muscles are closer to my core and work my way 'out'.

For example if I do my back and then my bi's, I feel like I get a better workout because my arms are warmed up from doing back, but not tired. If I do it the other way, I feel as if my back doesn't get as great of a workout

Compounds before isolation. No sense in wearing yourself out with bicep curls. Speaking of biceps, why the heck do you do chest and bi's? Makes no sense. Should be chest and tri's, but wutevs.

I do larger muscles with compound excercises first, then isolations, then go to smaller muscles, compounds is always first and isolations next.

    Chest/bi's indirectly works your triceps.
    Back/tri's indirectly works your biceps.

    Works for some people

I have a split routine. A four day split:

    Chest/Bi's
    Legs
    Back/Tri's
    Shoulders/Traps

I don't want advice on my routine, just the order it's in.

Yeah, me too, that's not what I was asking.

I'm want to know, for hypertrophy purposes, if I should run the muscles groups exercises together or separate them. I see so many big guys at my gym running them together that I'm wondering if it's a better idea, even if I won't be able to lift as much for the last few sets.

For all the people talking compound, I do chins at the end because they're too easy otherwise, and I don't have a weight belt. I'm an intermediate lifter, not a beginner.

I don't want a two day workout and that just sounds like a **** version of rippetoes. I have already done rippetoes when I first started out for 3 months. I've been lifting for 2 years now and I've moved onto a split.

Thats basically what Ive been doing for the last few weeks...
my thoughts were by alternating exercises for two muscle groups that you will be able to lift higher thus increasing muscle growth stimulus....I believe its the same/similar principles Charles Staley follows with his EDT

Fcuk off mate. That's not Rippetoes: he didn't mention

    How many reps
How many times a week to do it
Chins and dips aren't part of the real rippetoes program
AND he forgot the most important part of ripptoes: progressive overload.

All he mentioned was a few exercises in the same order as Rippetoes.

If you dumb-fcuk teens think that the fundamental principle behind Rippetoes is compound movements then don't talk to me anymore.

i'd go all chest before bis. Because bis arent compound, do all compounds first, then go to iso chest (ie. flys) then to bis.

    1) The fundamentals of Rippetoes are progressively adding weight (preferably per workout), and compound movements.

    2) I am friends with CJ, and he is in fact on Rippetoes, just as I am.

You're joking, right? I did Rippetoes when I was a beginner. It's not the perfect routine when you've been lifting for 2 years. The teen section is full of dickheads who just say "clean bulk," "rippetoes," "compound, not iso," without even reading the posts or even thinking about what they're saying.

And you mentioned a series of exercises, you did not mention Rippetoes. Then you negged me for arguing with you. Grow a dick, mate.

I never said you should do Rippetoes. I stated the order in which I do routines. Learn to read in YOUR OWN thread.

"What order do you do the exercises in?"

I stated the order, and you assumed what routine I did, which was wrong. It's not a "****" version of Rippetoes, it IS Rippetoes. I don't care if you know what routine I'm doing or not, I stated the order in which I do exercises in.
