Hi everyone, just curious what you all do about working out when you are sick. I'm suffering with a really sore throat and bad cough. I'm afraid if I get into to much cardio that I will start coughing like crazy. So I was just wondering what you all do to stay with your rutines wehn you are sick? I hate to miss a workout but if my body cant do it I dont have a choice.
Thanks!

When I have a bad cough I make sure I have plenty of water and a few cough drops or some gum and I don't really push myself as hard as I usually do. But if you feel really bad I think it'd be better if you rest your body, it'll take you longer to recover without enough rest, especially when we're sick. Hope you feel better soon!!

I don't work out if I have a fever, feel nauseous or have something that may be contagious. If it's something like a cold than I usually just do light cardio because I find it clears the sinuses. If I really feel that sick I take a day off. When I go back to the gym I don't begin as if I'm 100% but rather start at a slower pace giving myself time to recuperate.

If you workout regularly, some rest may actually help. So you can use that time to get better and rest your body. I just skipped 4 days because of the flue, and on Mondays workout I felt better, no joint pain and I was able to lift more.
just rest for few days, plus I imagibe when you are sick you wont eats must too due to lack of appetite.
