    Post Workout Drink

I thought I saw a thread on this before, but could not find it. What are folks drinking (eating) post workout?

Lately I have been making a shake consisting of:

    - Heaping scoop of Trutein (Vanilla)
    - Premixed Muscle Milk (chocolate)
    - 4oz Water or Milk (2%)
    - 1 Banana
    - Couple hand fulls of ice

Blend it all together to make a delicious protein shake (at least I think so). It yields about 475 calories (10g fat, 44g carbs, 56g protein). It seems like a lot, but I workout around noon time so this is basically a meal replacement for me.

I would avoid adding milk as this might slow down the absorption rate due to the milk fat.

Not a whole lot of fat in 4 oz of 2% milk... I don't think I'd worry about that and besides slowing down the absorption isn't a bad thing.

The whole silliness about an anabolic window is just that silliness.

When I get done with a workout I come home and eat a regular meal.

I have to agree with this man. Your body is a furnace after a workout, burning up everything in sight. I have no idea why the slow absorption from fats would be an issue at all when you're about to go God knows how many hours before you eat again.

Screw shakes after my workout. Already had enough of them throughout the day. Give me a nutritious meal with all the fixins.

Creatine, apple, & broccoli .......juiced drink ( the bullet ). My meals are split throughout the day, I don't have to worry about timing. 30 min after my drink I eat a full meal.

I drink my creatine post workoutt, because it's tasty and I've developed that habit as a little reward after training. I don't believe in meal timing or silly anabolic windows, and absorption rates don't matter to me.

I'm big on raw (unpasteurized/unhomogenized) milk. Well worth the 20 minute drive into PA to get it.
Google "61 Custom Rebuild" for how I do it.
