Actually if the vitamin is not water soluble, the excess goes into your tissue. I think, but am not sure about it, that Vitamin D, maybe Vitamin E are like this.
anyone know for sure?Yorkshireman I: Right! I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!

The amount of sodium in most foods we buy is unnecessary and does damage like clogging arteries and boosting b/p.
When my mother had a stroke years ago, she was put on a salt free diet, I tend to avoid salt in processed foods wherever possible, although NOT easy.
I'm sure the amount of Mercury ingested by us in tuna is miniscule in comparison by whatever is in processed foods, and what is guar gum anyway??

Tuna
Hey CT.
I've read some of the other responses as I'm sure you have as well and I thought I'd throw my two cents in. I was actually taking an earth science class in college last year and the term bio magnification came up. If you are not familiar with the term then you can look more into it here toxics.usgs.gov But I asked the professor how often he recommended I eat tuna and he said he did not recommend it at all. I think the best advice that he gave me was that if any amount of mercury enters my body then it it is very unlikely that it will leave, so it will be just building up over time. He also said that it is best to eat a variety of things that way if something is found to be dangerous then it is not as big of a deal. Hope that helps
Andy
P.S. I still eat tuna"No painting or sculpture is ever judged solely on how big it is, any more than a piece of music is judged only on how long it takes to play. Size alone just won't cut it. Why should you be any different"

Make sure to check the link in the article, see the graph & also remember that a diet high in selenium will counteract the vast majority of ingested mercury. The food highest in selenium? Use caution
Hey ckecked with the doctors here at the hospital and the nutritionist. Doc said to make sure to not over do it (no specification made as to what over do it was) but did explain that the liver holds onto alot of the chemicals and can adversely affect your health if you dont detox your body from time to time. Getting blood work regularly from your medical provider can avoid any serious issues. The nutritionist said to not eat more than 8 servings in a week or you can develop a imbalance in your system and a few "unsettling" side effects (tummy reference was made). Hope that helps a lil.

I have a theory that if we had a sleek swimsuit that converted our feet into a single flipper, and we learned how to use our bodies like a porpoise to swim (quick twitch full body flutter kick), we may be able to achieve speeds sufficient to catch tuna, etc. with our hands. Assumes breathing is well managed or facilitated with some applied engineering.
Google "61 Custom Rebuild" for how I do it.
