What kind of $$$ do you want to spend, any idea of your preferred upper limit, a "not-to-exceed" price" for the entire thing?
Do you have any equipment at all now (to avoid having people recommend something you already have)?
You can get into a decent power rack for ~$250 (US$) and an adjustable incline/decline/flat bench for about $150 (you can get much cheaper benches, but they will be much less solid), and that includes shipping.
Example power rack, ~$250: http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/92561.html
Example adjustable bench, ~$150: http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/99965.html
(note the attachments, if you need them, but you probably won't.)
Add a 300lb Olympic barbell set (bought locally to avoid shipping charges on 300lbs) for ~$130
Add an Olympic EZ-curl bar (if you wish) for ~$40.
Add a pair of Olympic dumbbell bars and good collars (don't want to get a short stack of 10lb plates breaking free and hitting you in the face) for ~$60. Maybe a few extra 5lb and 10lb Oly plates for the DBs, so you don't have to strip them off the main bar.
There you go; less than $700 and you'll never pay gym fees again, and it's always open when you want to train!
p.s. I just noticed that you're across the pond, so obviously the source won't work, but the examples should give you some idea.aut viam inveniam aut faciam

check out the "Workout Equipment" forum towards the bottom of the main page.
Power rack, bench and weights are the basics, there are quite a few threads where these are dicussed, one of the good ones is posted above.lift big 2 get big
