I believe eating something before you go to bed isn't a very good idea. Try to eat something (like cottage cheese) 2 hours or so before bed that's full of protein and low in carbs... Hope that helps.

1 or 2% milk...contains casein, and has a bit of fat to get you through the night.

Well then look to other protein sources. Protein shake, chicken, beef, etc. Why does it have to be low in fat? Some peanut butter would work good here to if you wanted some "good fats"

i dont think you should be worried about low in fat, before bed is one time having more fat is a really good idea as long as it is from a good source like nuts or lean beef.

Why is eating before bed not a good idea? Please don't say it will cause fat gain. Please, please, please don't go there.

If you feel like you have to eat before you go to bed, you aren't cutting right.

I'd like to hear your reasoning behind this.

he has none.
eating before bed doesnt contribute to weight gain. eating more than your daily expended calories leads to weight gain.
EDIT: personally at this very moment im eating 1/2 cup uncooked oats mixed in with 1 cup cottage cheese. great stuff. also just ate an orange O_o it was delicious.

Two scoops of Syntha-6 (with ice water). It has a slow, sustained release that your body can work with while you are sleeping. Any casein protein will do this for you, but I happen to like BSN.
It solved my morning lack of energy problem (you know - the 'z monster' that keeps you from getting out of bed).

I have this before bed and it works. (for me)
1 x 90g tin of tuna, aprox 15g - 20g protein
1 or 2 x tblspoon of peanut butter
People who say dont eat before bed, dont listen to them. Why is it that people have a fit if they mis-time their meals during the day by 5 minutes and think "OH NO my metabolism will shut down and il go into catabolic state" yet they wont eat before bed which should be about 9 hours of no eating!!!!
If you plan your calories/macros right during the day and allow for a small-ish meal before bed, you will be fine and should help keep your metabolism running well into the night! Good luck

You could always have some chicken and veggies or something.
