This is a really stupid thread, and I feel almost embarassed posting here, but as a track coach I feel compelled to say something. Maybe Ben Johnson did squat 700, maybe he didn't. We don't know. But we do know he was amazingly fast. Thing is, there have also been other guys just as fast or even faster who never hit the weights. So, the moral of the story is, when training for, sports, there's a lot more to success than just weightlifting.

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey is a british sprinter runs the 100m in about 10 sec flat

    He is around 210lbs

Here is a video of him doing a casual 200kg front squat

I would not be shocked if he could back squat with wraps 300kg

    He is ripped also

I don't know what ben johnson could have squatted but sprinters in general spend a lot of time in the weight room probably more then even throwers sometimes so they are quite strong.

That front squat is plenty impressive, but I'm not sure a psyche up ritual, grunting, ripping the bar from the rack, being yelled at, and a concentric that was a bit slow from the resistance is "casual."

I saw the Ben Johnson documentary and it was 600lbs I believe and he stopped shy of parallel and sat back on a bench with an active spotter holding him up. Also wrapped to the gills. LOL at all these claims like 700lbs raw atg squat.

    While I don't fully believe Ben Johnson's 700lb, I don't doubt it either. The dudes a beast
