Thanks! Her scheduled delivery date is the 26th but none of the doctors expect her to make it that far and the last few days shes been showing all the common signs for her body to be getting ready to go into labor so I'm expecting them to be born this weekend.

I have an update on this. The idiot marks I put on a couple of my plates (mostly on one, using the 25's) doing press stuff outside the rack...truly idiot marks.

If you check my original setup pic I put the j-cups where the wrap-around side stuck out on the outside of the uprights. I didn't realize this was stupid. But, duh, that just reduces the leeway you have between the upright and the plates/bar collars!

Today I did pressing outside the rack with the j-cups appropriately placed so the wrap-around was on the inside, and I didn't tag anything. That little bit makes a big difference.

This is the clearance with a Rogue EU bar placed directly on center, which has collars the same size as the Ohio Power Bar

It's been a while since I've posted but it's been a busy year with young kids, work, and building myself a new place. Anyway, here's the new setup in my basement. Roughly 12x20 with 9ft ceiling - also sound proofed.

Great set up. Thanks for posting pics, the thread has been a little slow. What did you do with the floor. Looks like 3/4" stall mats. What is the insert, 3/4"? Looks to be screwed down.

Haven't seen you in a while. Sweet setup!
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I was thinking about doing the exact thing to my flat foot rogue rack. Can you post pics when you're done? I just would like it to have plate storage.

Placed my order with mech last night for everything I need to change my 390F into a half rack and to make it more sturdy. Even with almost 500lbs stored on it, the sides have managed to move in almost an inch so he's building me a 2x3 brace to tie the two sides together at the floor to stop that. He's also building upper side crossmembers and a set of porches to move the Pull up bar out in front of the rack. Right now ill just have my fat/skinny Pull up bar but at some point ill probably add a rogue multi grip Pull up bar. Should I just paint everything black to match the rest of the rack or should I paint any of it purple to match with my other equipment? Other then the monolift that's red everything else in my gym is black, purple, or yellow.

lol my home gym consists of a pair of 5 pound db's, a pair of 12 pound db's, a single 20 pound db and a bunch of old 7-8 foot loong 42 pound steel bars for my bar workouts. I'll put tire rims and calculated small weights to attain what weight I need for OHP. I use a 130 pound anvil for my deadlifts, stacking db's ontop as needed. I can only deadlift 175 anyway, 130 pound avil + 20 pound db + both 12 pound db's = 174. Sometimes I used 5 pound fire bricks stacked on top as needed. LOL. Atleast I have steel toed boots for when things fall off the anvil.

I'll daisy chain two db's together as needed. 20+5 for biceps curls, 20+12 for single arm rows, 5+5 for lateral raises (So close to being able to rock the 12 pounders on this!)

I can afford some better stuff but I'm a cheap bastard. :P

    5lb Rogue Fractional Plate Set
Some of the weights were left off this list as I put them on the other side of the basement to get rid of.

Equipment not pictured (either getting parts or waiting to finish refurb)
Hammer strength adjustable, cybex plate loaded kneeling leg, cybex adjustable incline, cybex weight tree

Any "cheap" quality equipment you guys spot that I can get rid off, I want to have very good to commercial quality equipment.

Awesome set up. Thanks for posting the updated pics.

Awesome set up someironboy. Now all those questions you were asking makes sense.

Where did you score those ROEZH's? I love those. Are the ceilings standard 9' with out finish (drop/false celings)

    btw,

Was it you who ordered s**t load of Hi Temps from Rogue during BF sale? If yes, where are those?

Thanks! My ceiling is the slightest tad over 90", but with the uneven basement the front of the rack goes in between the rafters a little bit. I only have a few 45lb ROEZH's(10 to be exact) the rest of the plates are GPI (about 1200lbs of them), the ROZEH's I got basically free from other stuff I got with the equipment they came with. Yes, I order about 3 tons of HG 2.0's for resell, but I haven't decided on selling all of them quite yet so I only am selling 2/3 of them.

Nice. btw, I don't think you have any "residential" stuff . You got really really nice stuff at your age. Keep it up and use it well.

Lot of people who are lot older can only dream off the stuff you have.

Completed the room about a week before Christmas. Room size is 21'8" x 10'6" minus the closet and tv space giving 226 sqft. This room was a catch all so wife and I decided to turn it into a fitness room. Painted the walls and removed the carpet installing laminate wood look flooring.

The platform is screwed to the joists and 3/4" sub-flooring. 3/4" plywood makes up the first layer of the 8'x8' platform which I installed pronged T-nuts to bolt the rack and storage posts. 3/4" stall mats on each side 2'x6' and the remaining is 1/4" plywood and the flooring .39". I used construction adhesive to keep the flooring in place on the plywood and trimmed the platform with 3/4" quarter round.

The rack is a Rogue RM-3 Fortis and I fabricated the weight storage out of 2"x3" 11 gauge tubing with 1.5" sch 30 pipe for the horns.

    Bench is the Rogue bench

Barbell is the Rogue Ohio bar

    Dumbbell's 5lb-50lb by Omni Fitness

    Weight plates by Omni Fitness
    (2) 2.5lb
    (2) 5lb
    (14) 10lb ( So I can overhead press, 25lb and higher I hit ceiling)
    (2) 25lb
    (10) 45lb

Nordic Track Freestride FS7i for indoor cardio

Belts from Pioneer Fitness, Mine 13mm 10cm single prong treated and my wifes 6.5mm 10cm single prong died belt.

Now to decorate the room. Is great to be able to do the work out at home. Wife has started weights and I have a Rep Fitness technique 15lb barbell ordered so she can work up to the 45lb bar for squats and overhead presses. Plan to replace the dumbbell racks with a fabricated single rack for a cleaner look. Learned a lot reading this forum and feel we put together a great room that will outlast us and fulfill our fitness requirements so thank you all!!

Congratulations on turning a "catch all room" into a great home gym. You did a really nice job on the weight rack addition as well as how you set up your rack and platform. Looks great!
