I HATE rings for dips, doesn't even feel like they work your triceps and chest dips are impossible. I went to Lowes and bought pipes, and laid them across the safeties like below. Will cost you about $50, but they are effective. I put some of the end caps on to make sure it doesn't slide around mid-movement.

So I rigged this to the top of my cage to do neutral grip pullups. But same concept can be made for dips off the sides of the safeties. Heck, if you have an 8 foot rack in a 12 foot ceiling garage, you could use my set up for both.

Same idea. I always preferred this style to the other upright-mounted.

from this perspective, the pipe going front to back are 1" diameter and about 5' long. They sell them in 10' lengths, I had them cut it in half. I wanted it to be about 2' wide, but they didn't sell 1" in that length, so the piece running left to right is 3/4" pipe and I just bought two 1' - 3/4" reducing elbows.
I basically just made a U out of pipe. Even before I put the UHMW on my safeties, I had no issue with them moving and there is very little room for play left to right (from this perspective). I usually put it one with the lip of the elbow against the safety so it can't move in that direction. They shift a little front to back but not anywhere near enough to fall off.

that said, I've been tempted to go and pick this piece up
I used a similar piece at a commercial gym and loved it, especially the way the handles are "adjustable" based on where you grip them. But the seller wants $145, and I can't justify the money and real estate it would take up when my solution works perfectly well.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Figured I'd post pictures again here too after finishing my platforms.
My centerpiece of course...Pro Elite Rack with Mech6 safeties, monohooks, and band peg attachments(bands on the way). A bunch of Ivanko O series plates from 1.25-100lbs. Ivanko collars. You can see the homemade deadlift blocks. The rack sits on an 8x8 platform that is butted up against a 4x8 platform. I deadlift in front of the rack. You can see my Mech6 deadlift jack, many hundreds of lbs of vintage york, and bumpers in the background:
My IronMaster 120lb dumbbell set and stand, and the low row side(310lb stack) of my Atlantis cable tower. To the right you can see my homemade pinch lift and bar storage on the wall:
My Body Masters 0-90 bench:
elitFTS Collegiate GHD and the lat pulldown(310lb stack) side of my Atlantis tower. Also seen is the back pad for the tricep pushdown(160lb stack):
Atlantis Leg Press with 400lb stack. Also seen is the Concept2 Model D I have for now, Texas Deadlift bar on the ground, and PVC roller. For all my Atlantis gear STR8OUT made me a plate adapter that slides into the weight stack if I wanted to add more weight for whatever reason:
I think I've done a lot with the space I have available and am pretty happy with the layout now. It provides a lot of variety while still being fairly comfortable to move around in. I have some rings I need to hang back up, was planning on hanging a pullup bar though and hanging them from it.Last edited by THErunCMD; 06-30-2015 at 03:42 PM.

Not sure what you mean by removed. Maybe from the older pic I have of the Body Masters bench that came courtesy of eoakland before I built the platform?

oh duh, yeah! That thing was worthless for me. Even for a manlet like me it puts you too high up to spot somebody bench pressing. Perhaps it would have been good spotting incline or upright. The problem was with the new BodyMasters bench, that platform blocked the bench from going back far enough to get under the mono hooks for incline bench. It wasn't providing any structural support. Haven't tried it yet this way but I have incline press on the docket for today so we'll see!

Heres a few pics of our home gym that I took a long time ago and am now just getting around to sharing:
Didn't get pics of the far left corner, but there is a treadmill and a Leg Extension/Hamstring Curl Machine over there.

Indeed, love it. Jealous of the amount of space some guys have.
Gotta hold your hands a little steadier when taking pics though :P
I would want plates close to my power rack - do you have a couple trees that I'm missing?"Yea, though I farmer's walk through the valley of the shadow of deadlift, I will fear no repetition: for the power rack art with me; thy plate and thy barbell they comfort me."

The original pictures were better, I think they got blurry when I shrunk them down. didn't want them to stretch the page so much.
but yea, there is a tree behind the bench in the first picture. The towel on the bench kinda hides it. Theres also 8 plates on the base of the leg press right next to it.

New bumper plate racks; took the opportunity to rearrange stuff a little bit:
i like the powerblock bench/stand combo, but i am considering flipping it with the useless pb barbells and seeing what i can get for it. not sure though, because like i said i kind of like the combo.Last edited by Domicron; 07-02-2015 at 09:16 AM.

Nice salmon shorts.
Srs, gym looks good. I'd keep the PB bench if you like it, it's a nice little station for db work, and it certainly looks like you have the space for it.──<//>─<\\>── BWTG Cluster #2 ──<//>─<\\>──
