lol i was glad to get that gone. i did like it but it was too big. it was originally supposed to go upstairs but it was too big to fit up the stairwell. the sauna, no, but that thing yes LOL. i purposely showed the hallway shot to show how much space i now have
i think i will remove the padding from my flat benches though and store the frame in the shed. just no room really for them.▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪

Im starting the 5 x 5 routine with my 19 year old son So I spent the weekend in the man cave building a safety rack for benching and squatting. Josh and I are going to lift and I wanted a safe setup that doesn’t require a spotter because we wont always be able to lift together so I made one. I also made a padded and upholstered bench. Now we can bench and squat without a spotter.
I got 2 Olympic weight sets with dumbbells and curl bar and about 500 pounds of plates and a lifting belt. I made the safety rack so it would hold all the plates off the floor. The removable wooden safety rails on the floor are installed and used only while squatting. I have some more pieces of equipment I will build and turn a portion of the man cave into the workout room so long as there is still room to shoot the bows. I will need to by a few more sheets of 4 x 8 x ½ to protect the floor. Time to stock up on ibuprofen. ;-)
With the squat rails installed.

Upgraded the home gym from my Nebula rack/bench to this:
- Sorinex Base Camp
- Sorinex NP Bench
- Sorinex Root Hog
- Rogue Metal Rings
- IronMasters 120s
- Pendlay Needle Bearing Bar
- Pendlay Comp Bumpers (off to the side)
- TPB
- Revolvers
I'll do a review of the Sorinex gear over the next few weeks.

i would love to have that ghd for what you paid. everything but the sorinex gear was off cl. i made enough off flipping to cover my previous setup, sold it, then used that to put a solid dent in the sorinex purchase.
the nebula was awesome and i used it for years. i really didn't need to upgrade, i just got the bug. here were my nebula gripes:
- no pull-up bar and not motivated enough to mount one elsewhere
- back width was a little narrow for my taste. i think it was like 10"-10.5", where as the sorinex is at 12", which feels rock solid
- bench gap was ridiculous. basically 4.5" from flat to flat (had a slight pad slope). i'd fall into it all the time and the back length wasn't long enough to avoid it
- highest rack safety wasn't high enough for anything above my shoulders
- no sumo base
- J-hooks were an older style of roller tappets, so you would be centering your bar on raw steel, which destroys any knurl on the far ends. didn't matter for the tpb, cuz it's not like i'm snatching with a tpb.
that's all just nit-picking, tho. that rack was amazing and the bench weighed 150 lbs. on its own.
i had a craptastic used cap bar before that was bent when i got it. i straightened it out, used it, then ordered the tpb. huge difference, totally worth it. i now appreciate knurl and spin. for oly lifts, i use the pendlay needle bearing bar, cuz the tpb is terrible for oly lifts (no whip, aggressive knurl). definitely get yourself a good bar.

this is my old setup for reference. it's in the pic only thread, too.
sold off the full ivanko set, as well. they were sexy, but i decided i'd rather flip them and get a base camp.

never used a bushing bar, but i hear if u keep it well oiled, bushing bar is all you need. another bonus to the bushing bar is that you're not supposed to store the needle bar upright, but i think that's fine for the bushing bar. i got the needle bar in a package during their holiday sale (a loophole. wasn't supposed to be on sale).

I can't bring up your link, but I can see you're very resourceful, and made excellent modifications for arthritis. You're setting a great example for others, BiggerFoot.
