    Sore for Days......Normal?

I have just started working out again after a 4 year rest if you will. I am a little older now, almost 30. It seems to take a really long time for my soreness to go away now after I work out. Back when I was working out a lot my soreness would last 2 days max. Now it seems to last 4-5 days. My question is this because I am not getting enough protein? If I double my intake of protein will this speed recovery and repair the muscle faster?

    Thanks
