    Personal Training...

Im a Senior in Highschool and Ive been looking through different jobs for my career, but one that stands out is being a personal trainer. It involves something that im already highly interested in and enjoy doing. I was wondering what the starting, average, and expeirenced salary would be for this. And i know you can be employed by health clubs and **** so do you get benefits for this or no, your just on your own?

I've looked into the same thing only for in the UK, if you go down the route of being employed by a gym or a health club then chances are you won't get much money at all for a while, maybe not even enough to live off of potentially.
A good/great independant personal trainer though can pretty much set their own price, they just have to work on getting clients.

im 19 and i got certified over the summer and found a job as a personal trainer in LA recently in a gym that just opened around where i go to school

the job is ****en chill, u show ppl how to work out, schedule clients around your own schedule, and the pay is usually pretyt good.
but its only good if u work for a decent gym. if u work for like 24 hr fitness its somethin like $15/hr startin, up to $23/hr which is ****ty. the place i work at is $23 starting, as u get to higher levels (4 different levels of trainers) u get 26.50, 29, 32 i think, + bonuses for selling training packages and ****.

anyway, as for choosing training as a CAREER thats something different. i wouldnt wanna be doing this **** for the rest of my life, hella tiring and not much room for growth. if u go to colleg eim sure u could do some **** w/ a kinesiology (sp) degree or just straight business

my advice to you: get a NASM certification, talk to some trainers, make friends at a gym and work as a trainer there. see how u like it, make some money and take itfrom there. its EASY EASY EASY NASM is a ****in joke

im a trainer at fitness unlimited in langley bc.

It's a big 24 hour gym, and its only competition is fitness world.

We get 9$ CAN/hour for weight training and 18$/hour for personal training. Personal training clients are few and far between usually, and since our gym ofers free "weight training" sessions for members every 6 weeks, just about nobody wants to hire a personal trainer.

Job is ****in slack tho, we're SUPPOSED to clean and tidy gym if we have no appointments, but i ****in slack so much and say i did when I didn't. Whatever, they can ****in fire me. I stil live at home and this is just parttime i couldn't care less.

I have like 3 personal training clients who see me at rare times. It costs them 30-40 per session dependin what package they buy, and basically nobody wants to buy a package.

At fitness world I think they get more personal training buyers.

Whatever tho, it's a slackass job and i even do reception parttime for some extra cash on weekend.
